  The room was quirky inasmuch that it was on two levels with a beautiful refurbished bathroom, a dressing table area and wardrobe, then up four stairs to the bedroom and sitting area. Nothing was lacking in facilities. THe restaurant and bar areas were always busy and popular with walkers and visitors to the area. I shall definitely stay at Wateredg - The Wateredge Inn is in a wonderful location right on the lake. The views out to the boats bobbing on the lake were lovely. The room was nicely decorated and comfortable as was the bathroom. The inns lounge and dining areas were very nice, with again a beautiful outlook. The two Scottish sisters who waited on us for breakfast were lovely and friendly as was Ryan the bar man. The countryside around Ambleside was really beautiful and well worth a longer visit.

  The hotel is fantastic. The room was fab and the service by the staff was outstanding. As soon as you arrive you get a friendly face welcoming you and they are so helpful. The pool was brilliant and clean.   All staff were very friendly, yet efficient and professional. The room was better than I expected for the price. We were given a free room upgrade on arrival.   This was our second visit to the Waterhead. An excellent hotel. Luxurious but comfortable. Super food and friendly staff. Fantastic views! - we enjoyed evreything about our stay, location was beautiful, hotel was lovely, and restaurant was excellent

  The room was recently and well-decorated with quality fittings including an ingenious blind. The service was very friendly - I was shown round the hotel and to my room. The service at breakfast was simply excellent. Even after I checked out and asked to stay for a bit longer, I was made to feel welcome and brought a complimentary cafetiere of coff... what people say » ee. - The room was spacious, well-decorated, very comfortable and I felt pampered. Fabulous bed. Huge bathroom with the best shower in Britain. Dinner was delicious. Lots of soft armchairs to relax in before dinner. You could open the windows and adjust the heating (to dry clothes in the bathroom).

  Ferndale Lodge had everything we needed for a good price. We stayed in their 'small double' room and it is definitely small! But it had a compact ensuite bath and wonderful views. We weren't missing anything. Breakfasts were tasty and generous - a good selection of yogurts, fruit, cereals and full English breakfast fare. The staff were friendly and attentive and the accommodation was all around very comfortable - Stayed here with my wife for 2 nights, 27th and 28th July. Very clean comfortable room and bed, excellent breakfast and very friendly staff. We would recommend this BnB to anyone visiting the Windermere Lake. Just a short stroll into the town of Ambleside and 1 mile to the Lake.
