  The room was quirky inasmuch that it was on two levels with a beautiful refurbished bathroom, a dressing table area and wardrobe, then up four stairs to the bedroom and sitting area. Nothing was lacking in facilities. THe restaurant and bar areas were always busy and popular with walkers and visitors to the area. I shall definitely stay at Wateredg - The Wateredge Inn is in a wonderful location right on the lake. The views out to the boats bobbing on the lake were lovely. The room was nicely decorated and comfortable as was the bathroom. The inns lounge and dining areas were very nice, with again a beautiful outlook. The two Scottish sisters who waited on us for breakfast were lovely and friendly as was Ryan the bar man. The countryside around Ambleside was really beautiful and well worth a longer visit.

  Die Lage am See - The hotel is fantastic. The room was fab and the service by the staff was outstanding. As soon as you arrive you get a friendly face welcoming you and they are so helpful. The pool was brilliant and clean.   Very warm and friendly welcome, lovely room, bathroom and excellent breakfast with many choices that are not usually offered. - Brantfell House was excellent, great hosts, great service, 5 Star room. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

  All staff were very friendly, yet efficient and professional. The room was better than I expected for the price. We were given a free room upgrade on arrival. The breakfast service and food quality/choice were worthy of a good 4 star hotel. pool and gym very clean and well-equipped.   Ferndale Lodge had everything we needed for a good price. We stayed in their 'small double' room and it is definitely small! But it had a compact ensuite bath and wonderful views. We weren't missing anything. Breakfasts were tasty and generous - a good selection of yogurts, fruit, cereals and full English breakfast fare. The staff were friendly and attentive and the accommodation was all around very comfortable - Stayed here with my wife for 2 nights, 27th and 28th July. Just a short stroll into the town of Ambleside and 1 mile to the Lake.
