The room was excellent with all facilities. A complimentary glass of mulled wine and mince pies on arrival was much appreciated. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the free parking plus internet was a bonus. Good selection of hot and cold food for breakfast. we would ertainly stay here again. The hotel was very impressive, breakfast was very good indeed and staff very friendly. 4 stars it has and certainly deserves them. Thank you and well done we will be back Alan and Kim.

The hotel was conveniently positioned for Ambleside and we were able to stroll into town for our evening meal, leaving the car in the car park.The Lakes Lodge was very clean and comfortable and the linen , bedding and duvet was of a very high quality. Room was a little bit nosey being on the road side (could possibly benefit from double glazed windows) and the shower was not very good, dribbled warm water. water pressure for shower not great. the parking could do with improving. the mattress could have been better, we found it had a dip in the middle. The idiot that came in in the early hours, shouting "Good Morning" as he went up the stairs to his room. As there's no one on duty during the night he could get away with waking everyone up!. The room we had did not have a bath and the shower was small but there are rooms with baths and if we went again we would prefer a bath or the superior room which has a spectacular view.Noisy plumbing at times. There was some noise from the road but not enough to disturb.Very low pressure shower; Good location - close to town centre but on a main road; room was at the front of the hotel and we got a lot of road noise. No full english breakfast. £15 charge for single bed when one wasn't provided. Corridor and staircase were in need of refurbishment. The fire door to the first floor clashed shut all through the night and there was outside noise from passers by as we faced the main A591 road.More TV channels... Sky etc. (Sad I know but after a long walk or bike ride there's nothing better than settling down to watch good TV with a glass of wine!). Bathroom floor not very clean and shower underpowered.maid left bedroom door unlocked one day. breakfast was a bit limited - ham/cheese/sausage etc. selection was poor quality and unappetising. Our room was small, no way to adjust the temperature and it was quite hot in the room. We opened the windows, but then it was very noisy. No body lotion, tissues or face clothes in the room. Bed was lumpy even though we were told it was a new room. Extended the stay on Monday night. Should of been charged the Sunday night rate but was charged the Saturday night rate of £95!!! Be sure to check the rates if you extend your stay.....Room wasn't very nice, view over main road, noisy traffic wake up call. central heating either extremely hot or extremely cold.
