We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. It was very clean and comfortable and room was modern. Really nice to return to after the busyness of Istanbul. Our room at the top level had a great view of the Bosphorous. It was also on the same level as the breakfast area and one flight of stairs up to the roof top where we could enjoy a drink and watch the sun set. It was also a short walk to Sultanahmet. Definitely recommend this room.
all reviews » On our way to Kathmandu we stayed one night at Istanbul City Guest House. We came in late and was met buy Emre the manager. After throwing in our bags we went out for a beer with him. Very nice guy. Afterwards he treated us drinks at the balcony. Next time in Istanbul I will definitely stay there. No question about that. Good location. Walking distance to all highlights. Airport transport and so on... Brilliant!. We stayed 4 nights . The staff was outstanding, helpful and accommodating. The room overlooked the Golden Horm and was a short walk to the Blue Mosque, Haggia Sophia and Grand Bazaar, as well as nightlife and many restaurants. The morning breakfast was much more that we expected. We would love to stay there again someday. Excellent location, close to transport and touristic sites, We requested for a late check-in, it was approved, The reception personnel were very freindly and helpful in advise on what to do in the city. Breakfast were good. Good value for money. We will recomend it for our freinds and hope to be there in future. The staff is really friendly. The manager will give you any information if you need help. Especially, my wife thanks to the aunt who prepared good breakfast. Room might be small but has everything in it and well arranged. Also, location is very convenient. You can get Hagi sophia by 5min walking. Thanks !. It is a basic 3 stars hotel but it is perfect if you want to visit the city. The location is perfect, in the old city, 5 minutes walk from all the important sites. It is clean and has everthing you need. The staff was helpfull and incredible nice. Our room was very spacious and clean. We also had a big closet. The location is great since it's right behind the blue mosque, about a 10 minutes walk. The breakfast buffet is nice with a wonderful view. Balcony at the top of the guest house has amazing view. Kitchen with beautiful view can be used all day and night, you can really feel like at home. Perfect location. Great internet connection. This is a very comfortable hotel in the midst of old Istanbul. Excellent for sight-seeing and in the heart of the city, surrounded by lots of things to do and see, with restaurants everywhere. Wasn't an issue for us though. Was a little surprised at the stairway, but had help with our bags. Good exercise and typical of small hotels in Istanbul. I don t have anything bad to say :). Lack of good wi-fi connection in the basement level room;). It is not possible to sleep with open window due to the noise of a road that is near the hotel. As alternative, you can switch on air condition in the room. No sign on the road side of the building. The bathroom had a lot of water leaking from the shower, which led to the floor being wet most of the time, but the floor was tiled and had a drain, so it wasn't a huge deal. The juices at breakfast seemed to be powdered mixes. Heater might be too weak for comfort in colder weather. Cornflakes for breakfast as am more of an oats / muesli man :). Noisy kids. Sound carries from the reception to the room..... Lack of information. I would haVe liked a chair in my bedroom. There was no where to just sit in the place. Toilet too small and the blanket very thin. the bathroom was too small hardly a person fits in. After shower the floor floods(due to unaligned doors). The locomotive or train passes by the hotel. The shower with the bad door. the brefast. The hotel is over booking on 1 Nov and 2 Nov. the manager asked us to stay in another apartment once we arrived in the mid night of 1 Nov, they didn't provide enough rooms to us either, even we booked 3 rooms on 2 Nov. To sum up,there is no credit from magement level.
