We spent 8 days in beautiful Istanbul. Our hotel was very pleasant and family friendly. The transfer from the airport to the hotel and backward ran without any problems and was organized by the hotel. The reception was friendly. The hotel is small and in the Ottoman style. We stayed in the 3rd floor. The rooms are small, but perfectly sufficient for us as we were traveling a lot. It was optimal, that there were two small terraces one floor above us. all reviews » The hotel is a lovely budget hotel with friendly staff who value customer service and were always there to great you. We had a problem with noise in our first room (I am a very light sleeper) and they moved us as soon as they could. Rooms are clean and well serviced. Breakfast is fine; it is obviously not necessarily what you would have in your home country but you go on holiday to experience alternative options. There are plenty of choices including cereals, fruit, meat, cheese and scrambled e. The hotel is located in the old center of Istanbul, Sultan Ahmet, where the main attractions are. It is a crowded area, but Sphendon is located on a perfect quiet street, with a nice supermarket in the neighbour building. The space is not so generous, but is very well distributed. You have all the facilities you need, and if a problem occurs the staff will react promptly resolving it. The location is great - near the major attractions in a walking distance. Clean room and spacious. friendly english speaking staff helping with the luggages, providing umbrellas for rainy days and basically helping you out with tips for visiting Istanbul. good value for money.
