Beautiful restored Ottoman Mansion , our room was really amazing with a square bay of sash windows with stunning views across the Bosphorus, wonderful wooden carved ceiling and authentic décor. The room was so cosy and warm to return too after a day of taking all he Splendid sites. The Friendly Staff were so helpful and charming and the Taxi Service to and from the Airport another touch of luxury which made you feel a welcomed guest. Location was ideal for the Historic sites and for Shopping w.
all reviews » The hotel saved our skin when we were let down on arrival by another hotel. The staff couldn't have been friendlier and provided us with useful information on arrival, including directions for taxi drivers as the hotel is a bit out of the way. Traditional, quite old-fashioned style which made it a bit different in a good way, to other hotels I've stayed in e.g. chandeliers in the bed rooms. The rooms were clean. Excellent view of the river from the hotel terrace. Would have liked more time to t. Beautiful hotel designed with a lot of love for details and a great combination of original furniture and modern equipment. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful and created a very personal atmosphere, one really feels at home at this hotel. The location is extraordinary - in walking distance to the sightseeing attractions but still in a traditional area of "real Istanbul", a perfect hide-away after a touristic day in busy downtown!. The attention to detail was great and the stuff was helpful and very professional. For me it was like home I felt special treated from the first day. I don't have enough space and words to explain why the experience was the best from all the others and believe me when I say that I have travel a lot. Try and see it for your self. We were behind the reception so there was quite a lot of residual noise. This included from outside (the walls were very thin). Even with directions, most taxi drivers struggled to find the hotel, but this wasn't a massive problem. I had a problem knee and the location was up a hill. "Mixed" location in what appears to be a relatively deprived but safe area. Halfway up quite a steep hill - great coming down from Mosque or going to river/bridges. The location was less convenient than we expected. - Maybe some other services/facilities (extra cost) might be included, such as gym, hairdresser. If you have neighbours staying above you who don't need sleep, you might have trouble to get a good sleep as well. When you walk outside the first couple of streets are not that great. But the neigbourhood will be renovated the next couple of years. 1. Someone could dislike the neighbouhood - poor houses with poor people. But they are not aggressive and we anyway use the way through this streets cause it was some true and adventure. 2. Yes, breakfast needs diversity or at least more fruits. 3. Swimming pool is smaller than it seems on photos but at hot weather it is useful anyway. The place was in the center, near main places of interest, but when you go out, you find yourself in the very old city and rather poor streets. The pick up from the airport didnt show up, but it was compensated with the free transfer to the airport. The hotel is located in an older, some what run down area of Istanbul and is not easy accessable by vehicle. if you arrive late in the evening is not so easy to find.... Cereal and fruit selection at breakfast could be expanded. Hard for taxis to find. No facility for tea-coffee in-room Tea very expensive outside breakfast time Housekeeping could do better. all things good. Hard to describe the location to taxi drivers. Very small bqthrooms. Paid extra for a room with a view but the room was not as nice as the one pictured on the website. Location very central and quick walk to main sites but a bit dodgy if solo traveler as it is situated in back streets amongst derelict houses which are sadly inhabited by whole families. Nothing happened to us but would hate to have walk back to hotel at night alone. Other than this it was perfect. Information regarding the taxi price for transfer. Other residents who had an attitude problem towards staff and other residents. nothing. Difficcult to easily walk to and from hotel because of steep and narrow roads, Hard for cab drivers to find. nearest environment outside hotel. The breakfast was poor. Dinner - menu limited Hill climbs - but that gives the view. To wait one hour at the airport for the transfer. Hotel was located in the slums, hotel room had a bad odour. Staff were not the most knowledgeable and house keeping did not change bed sheets during our 7 day stay simply made the bed. This hotel is over priced and should be clearly advertised as such. It was our honeymoon and we were terribly disappointed do not be fooled by the photoshopped pics.
