the staff! they were absolutely superb, so friendly, helpful and polite. they made our stay the brilliant experience it was as we felt welcome and looked after from check in to check out!. Great location and staffs are very friendly. This is my hotel in Istanbul in future. The view from our room of the Blue Mosque, Staff was friendly, spoke excellent English and assisted in giving local information and making arrangements for airport transfer.

Luckily, not in the room.The tram outside our room. Rooms facing the main street are somewhat noisy until 1AM. noisy when facing the main road; bathtub was weird. Bathroom to small but still aceptable. What i didn't like is that they gave us at firts the worst room in the hotel saying they had no others. The prices of the rooms are not shown at the reception, it's a never ending negotiation which I find unacceptable for a Best Western. Only after we spent a horrible night and threat to go to another hotel they said they had a room, wich was much more expensive than the first. A bit noisy during the day.bathroom was disgusting, broken basin, shower could not accomodate me even crouched, basin leaked. the breakfast very poor.we opened the window of the room and there was a wall facing directly the room, it is like we had no window, It is also bit noisy. Breakfast is not good value for money.Unfortunately the hotel is seriously overdue for a refurbishment, we changed rooms in the middle of the night on our 3rd night as it had rained so heavily, water had come through the ceiling above (a few drips to start with!)we were on the second floor!!! There were previous signs of water having come through as the ceiling was stained, some of the rooms had quite serious water damage to them. Coffe and tea was bad.The look of the breakfast romm ist so poor. need more cleaning and improvenment in breakfast. I paid in cash because the first day they asked me to pay with my credit card in advance and i was afraid to give my credit card. size of triple room. lack of restaurant fascilities. yes, the room was small and we had problems with the electric supply. Air con in room poor as was cleaning of room. . poor room service, no decent restaurant.
