nd you can be in the city centre within 15 minutes. The complimentary Lausanne Travel Card (valid for 2013 bus and metro travel) was an added bonus wh - Dinners were good and for a good price. Breakfast came with the room. It was a little distant from downtown but we got a bus pass which made it cheap to travel via the public system. The distance to downtown was walkable and enjoyable because it was by the water and in the park with lots of activity, swimming, etc. We took a boat across the lake to Evian France and a train to Geneva from downtown. Be sure to see the Kathedrale Notre-Dame which is right off the metro line.

We spent the night in Vevey the night before heading into the Alpes. It is a lovely town on Lake Geneva and this hotel is a few minutes walk from the trains station and even closer to one of the two docks where it is possible to catch a lake excursion. nternet signal is strong, beds comfortable, towels thick and large, shared kitchen very clean and in good order and there was room in the refrigerator - Close to the lake and central to everything. We had bicycles so it was a nice easy ride to montreux. Room was excellent value for money considering the prices some places were charging. Had a secure place to store our bicycles.
