The Position is great, the city on your door step the old town and Lake Geneva only a few minutes walk from the hotel. Continental breakfast very good , also boiled eggs a good start to the day. I have been to expensive cities before but this one wins hands down but well worth a visit. The ambiance was very old Switzerland with all the modern amenities. Very warm and inviting. The staff was very accommodating and helpful. The location was ideal and very convenient. I will return.
all reviews » Peaceful in an exellent location cloose to jet déau, the old town and the walk along the lake. The decorations are lovely if You like grand design from 1900. Exellent beds, small bathroom. The hotel location is great, close to the old town, shops and restaurants. Staff was friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Internet was very good. Breakfast was OK. The hotel is very elegant, the location is superb, the staff professional and friendly, the room was fantastic - we were upgraded to the 6th floor. Staff was unfailingly helpful. Difficult to get to due to the renovation of the square in front, but that is temporary and will soon be finished. Ask for the bigger room with a nixe view, the smaller rooms are dark. I always carry with me in Switzerland an universal electric mains plug adapter but this time one of my contacts was bit loose. I tried to borrow an adapter at the reception but to my surprise they said they do not lend them - they could only sell me one at a price of CHF20! Sounds like a joke! Never heard that in any other hotel before in any country! You can bet I did not buy it. Just found a way to amend my adapter. We liked just about everything about the hotel. In other hotels we stayed in when we were in Lucerne and Amsterdam, the morning breakfast was more robust-omelets, pancakes, scrambled eggs/crisp bacon. We thought the breakfast at the hotel was spare. Could have used two persons working there. Not a huge problem. It was really hard to get a second cup of coffee and that was disappointing. Parquet in the room was squeeking. Bathroom lacks bidet or mini hand-shower. Shower in the bathtub has a very low hanging position, making it impossible to stand up without holding the shower head by hand. Not all staff had the same level of customer service. when looking for recommendation for dinner, I was told that all the restaurants locally were the same. The only problem with the hotel is the antiquated system of Air-con - unfortunately for them, this summer has been incredibly hot so this has been noticeable. The air-con is practically non-existent so room very hot... Lack of propper AC, they use portable units that are very noisy and not very powerful. Construction No full dining Old furnishings in rooms No air conditioning. The very poor air conditioning system. Bathrooms can use some updates. One staff member v arrogant. Construction noise in the hôtel. Check urgently bedside lamp switch and standard lamp. I forgot to mention it. They are very dangerous at the moment. Poor internet. small room, inefficient aircosystem. Wireless not working. Inadequate air conditioning Mid July 32-38C!!. The rooms have no adequate sound proofing , Also hard wood floors , are a nightmare , for sound transference. It not get any sleep , you could hear all conversations etc from adjoining rooms. Me and 3 my colleagues stayed 3 days at Longemalle. I will not recommend this hotel to anyone. Broken conditioner in room 405 Slow Wi-Fi Broken santechnics in rooms. The Hotell itself is very old and the rooms are in pretty bad condition. The breakfasts are VERY POOR, especially for the price of rooms. The worst thing was that someone stole my colleague's bag from his suite during daytime. The reception manager didn't do his best to find out what happened to that bag. I'm disappointed. Almost everything. The hotel needs a total renovation, revamping. Also in the attitude of the staff. Not good and even bad way when they deal with the customers.
