  The location was fantastic. It was very close to the El Born district & the Picasso Museum. There were plenty of little unique shops & restaurants in the area. Lots of different breads, juices, teas and coffees. Great value and just what you need before a days sightseeing. Our room was small but well planned, clean and comfortable. Its on a quiet street just a few hundred yards from La Ramblas. It was a beautiful hotel right in the center of everything. The finishings were beautiful with a luxurious feel in the common areas as well as in the rooms. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were quiet. Nice big towels and very nice large bath sheets. Out of the 5 hotels we stayed at in Spain, this was our favorite.

Very few luxury hotels are able to balance friendliness with efficiency like Hotel Bagues. It's a rare gift to offer the experience they do for guests. The ambiance of the hotel is fantastic, too, and despite being on the La Rambla - with a room overlooking it - at night we could only hear the faintest of sounds. Luxuriously decorated, but cosy, the entire hotel is a really lovely experience.

The food was excellent and the waiters were the best in any hotel we stayed at. They seemed to sense when someone required service. We never had to wait long for anything.
