It was very good value but this was probably due to te refurbishment that was going on - it didn't prove a problem but we knew it was happening. I fI could afford to stay there again I would. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Sadly all too short. The decor and thegeneral facilities in the room were perfect. We enjoyed the whirpoolbath. Excellent location. Will definitely return. excellent friendly staff especially front desk. great location. Newly decorated funky rooms with great facilities. Free wireless internet. All round a winner. The delux room that we had was huge! It was incredibly quiet and the reception staff were very friendly and helpful.Easy acess to airport and La Rambla and excellent, overall friendliness of all the staff. friendly staff, excellent location, good standard room. The service was great and the location second to none. Hotel was in a great location, the room was of a very high standard and the staff were very helpful. I don't think we could have asked for a better hotel and if we return to Barcelona I would definitely stay here again.lovely rooms with jacuzzi and beds you could regulate with remote control. Extremely helpful and gracious staff.lovely quiet room, excellent location, incredibly friendly and helpful staff, great breakfasts with many choices. Some reviews said the beds weren't comfortable, but they were very comfortable!. central position. Stayed two days then went on a cruise from Barcelona port.Location, room ammenities, friendly staff, good value breakfast buffet. Central location and friendly, efficient staff. Personal atention, quiet room, nice bathroom. location. staff and confort excellent.See item #2...I still have jet lag.staff. Location and almost everything. very central position. The position was great. The hotel was also great, a bit expensive and the rooms very small no space to put a suitcase. The decor great.standard of the room, location of hotel. the hotel staff is excellent. They anticipate needs well, instead of reacting to requests, which means needs and requests are fulfilled quickly. And they genuinely seem to care about their guests.Location was perfect. Right on La Rambla and near the cathedral. We walked everywhere.Location.As the hotel is on the La Rambla, it has night noise much like New York City does all the time. the city seems to never really rest. While there are two thick sliding glass doors to mute the noise it does not eradicate it.It was quiet - lacking in atmosphere. La Rambla is a very central place to stay but not appealing in itself. The street is blocked with huindreds of tourists all day and the restaurants on the street are dreadful tourist traps. However the hotel is a peaceful oasis.No. A/C worked poorly. Would have liked tea/coffee making facilities in room. The steps at the entrance were a problem with our luggage, but now I know that I could have gone inside and gotten assistance. Next time i'll know.Very disappointed in the Montecarlo. The night before, I stayed at Atrium Palace (letsbookhotel.com) for 100 euros less per night and not only was the room just as good, the services were far superior. Complete turn down service at the Atrium versus none at all the first night at Montecarlo. 2nd night only linen mats at bedside. Not even dirty towels replaced. Atrium a much nicer experience.overall.
