We loved the character of this old hotel (16th century building), and our very large, top floor apartment with skylights. The staff was wonderfully friendly and accommodating, and all spoke excellent English. Despite the great location on the Royal Route, the hotel was very peaceful and quiet. The basement cavern where breakfast is served, has recently begun opening in the evenings as a casual pub/sports bar.

A little gem of a hotel in the center of Krakow's Old Town; 3 min to Main Square, 5 min to Wawel. It is a converted old house with a restaurant in the cellar. Very clean, well kept and safe. Very friendly stuff- they offered to make me a takeout breakfast because I was leaving before 6 AM to catch my flight. Location is perfect for walking and exploring all of Krakow. Staff us gracious, friendly, helpful. Everything is very clean. Pretty quiet except when people talk loudly in the hallways. I would stay here again but ask to see room first and check the bed. The great attitude of the staff and their help! Especially I would like to thank the receptionist Miss Marta Zahorodna who went beyond one's ways to help me when I needed to solve a problem. Good internet even on the third floor!!! Nice breakfast. A very central location. Breakfast was taken separately in the "Cheers Bar" in the cellar near to the reception area - run by a very friendly Scottish man. Personally, I thought the old world charm of the hotel was lovely and would stay again!. Perfect location - right in the heart of old town. Staff was very helpful, breakfast was more than adequate. The rooms were spacious and well-furnished. Everything about this place is great, and only adds to a great destination like Krakow!. Tea & coffee facilities in rooms would be an added bonus (although there are communal facilities in the 1st floor lobby area). Small (but adequate) selection for breakfast due to the limited space in the cellar. No elevator, but only 3 floors. The back stairs which went directly to my room were somewhat exposed, stone steep and it was quite rainey making them somewhat perilous. Luckily I discovered an interior stairway on the second day. The window iny single room opened on the back stair well and when people talked it was very noisey. My bath was new and lovely but the bed was one of the worst I have experienced in years. Thin, lumpy, unpleasant. The location of my room was not perfect because the window faced an inner staircase so I could not have the curtains opened because someone could see me. There was no coffee/tea facilities in the room. However, on asking coffee/tea/milk/sugar was provided on the landing of the second floor but it was a pain to constantly find the kettle empty and have to trudge back to our room to refill it!!! Also,carrying hot drinks up or downstairs etc., isn't the best idea!. Recommended parking lots are expensive, and still a few minutes' walk away. Be prepared to carry/roll your bags!. Nothing at all... GREAT. Noise from the street at night. The stairs to the apartment were too steep and were diifcult going up especially if you were carrrying something. Our sons room at the front of the Hotel was a little noisy but it did not realy disturb his sleep as we had all enjoyed the night life. Nothing. Nothing. The only problem we had was difficulty getting more than one pillow for each bed. The lack of an elevator may be an issue for elderly visitors. No elevator and Air Condition was minimal. A little noise at midnight but is for the windows. Nothing. Rooms not serviced daily. Breakfast. The tea/coffee making facilities were on the 1st floor landing- we were on 3rd! There were 60 steps to our room - we are all in our 70's!. Breakfast was average. Room above the bar. Was very, very noisy on the weekend. no hand shower, no hotel book + instructions, no place for soap and shmpoo in the shower, only 1 toilet paper roll, no acces to BBC news channel on tv. Lack of room facilities eg no tea making facilities and having to go out in the cold for breakfast. No elavators no parking ( 2 streets from the hotel for 12 eur p/N.). the rain. less tranparent window curtains would be an advantage. TV only seemed to have one Polish channel. Tea & coffee making facilities were shared on 1st fllor landing - would have been better in room or at least on each flor landing. 3 flights of stairs to get to our room at the top! No lifts!. Nothing. Nothing. Poor lighting on stairs,no lift doesn't help, basic accom, little natural light in single room, no tea facilities in room, very poor access visibility from street, taxis etc pick up and drop some distance away. Breakfast basic. Bed was not comfortable and there was a lot of noise on Fri and Sat night coming from downstairs. Breakfast was very basic.
