The view from our deck was amazing, probably better than the view from the hotels that are nearer to the reail station and port. The room was pretty big, and had all the facilities needed to cook and eat. For those who do not cook, there is a bar/restaurant on the basement that offers basic meals at fair prices.

Flam is a very beautiful place at the bottom of a fjord, and shouldn't be missed. The hotel is 2 minutes from the train overlooking the fjord. This hotel is located in a beautiful spot, a very short walk to the Flam train station and the Gutvagen ferry dock, and next door to Flam's excellent microbrewery/restaurant. The location is excellent, just around the corner from Balestrand and 500m from the ferry. It is also a good base for lots of walks. We had the 3 course dinner at the hotels restaurant which was yummy but the best was the wonderful view while eating dinner. We could see dolphins in the fjord! Staff were friendly and helpful and the place was very clean.
