On arrival it was raining so we were sitting in the car waiting for it to pass over. They came out with umbrellas so we didn't get wet. They were very friendly and did everything they could to make our stay pleasant. I am fussy about cleanliness but the place was spotless. We had an ocean view apartment and it was fabulous. all reviews » Very quiet (although we did have a unit away from the road). Very clean and tidy, good facilities, welcoming host. All good. Its near the treaty grounds in one direction and the shops/cafes in the other. But mostly I just love that they found my tablet charger before I even knew I had lost it, and posted it on really quickly. We had a very nice stay and thank you Breakwater motel. Our room is very comfortable and warm (it is important for the winter here), thank you. Staff is very friendly. Location is fabulous - a small walk to the beach, nice restaurants and shops and super market - we did not have to drive... We love to stay there again... Motel is rather new so rooms are very modern, lovely kitchen facilities, bathroom, lounge area,king size bed. Large windows and balcony area with great views of the water. Great location, easy walk to shops, restaurants and to the wharf for all cruises. Very clean and room is serviced daily, friendly and helpful owners. The view from our room was absolutely wonderful and the rooms were spacious and very well equipped. We were going on a cruise on the day we left and they kindly offered to allow us to leave our car and simply wander down to the jetty which saved a lot of hassle. The suite was lovely and clean with a well appointed kitchen and spacious bathroom. The views from the bedroom and lounge were gorgeous,especially early morning with the sunrise. Go to the Waitangi Treaty Grounds 5 min drive, really interesting history and excellent cultural performance, the best that we have seen. everything great facilities in room view acros the bay owners really helpful colours of the decor in the room large shower cubicle ( important when your husband is 6 ft 4in!) walking distance to shops bars and restaurants. Loved everything...We stayed for 5 days and loved every minuted.Motel proprietors were most obliging and friendly. Motel facilities,cleanliness and location were excellent. Thank you for making our stay a memorable one. This motel was adequate. On our first day it was not serviced properly.No clean toilet and no rubbish was taken. This was very quickly remedied by the owners. Location was excellent and the view was amazing. Sea was dirty and rough on a hot day and wouldve loved a swim to cool down. Nothing. We ask to use the sauna but it was dirty and so it was out of use for the entire day and night, would've liked to be able to use the facility before leaving. Oh we'll. Nothing. Yes, there was the advertised sea-view - but it was over a car park and a road. Nothing.
