We found the Ash Grove cabin we had to be the best accommodation we had on our visit to the Northern part of the North Island. Everything was absolutely perfect, which we failed to get at many other of the locations we visited. Owners/managers? very friendly and helpful; have nothing but praise for the establishment, we wish we could have stayed longer. Welcomed with fresh muffins from really nice hosts. Our cottage was right next door to hosts house yet it was private, clean and had every thing we needed to make our stay comfortable. Great place for our break away weekend. Easy access to a variety of attractions, Paihia,Kerikeri etc.

Few minutes by car to supermarket and water. being slightly out of the town as I had a car, swimming pool although I didn't use it. free wifi and parking and that it was a very nice secluded place where you were left alone. Lovely self-contained cabin layout with access to prime pool facility, private courtyard at back of cabin for relaxing and free wifi. We had everything we might need in our studio apartment, very tidy and nicely decorated, with nice garden and pool access. Clean, comfortable rooms. Parking spot right outside each room. Nice garden surrounds. Quiet. Very eco-friendly policies. We stayed in a one-bedroom unit (with another single bed in the living area). Really good spacious unit. The facilities are amazing, staff knowledgable and very friendly, the pool was lovely! Nice and quiet. The extremely helpful owners and the peaceful/spacious facilities outside. Nothing to dislike. Entrance was a bit tricky but my hubby had this mastered after a couple of times haha. Yes next to a busy road but the lovely native trees with the beautiful tui helped shield that. slightly out of town but I liked this. Would not suit travellers without a car, however with a car great location, not even 5 minutes from central Paihia, supermarket close to cabins. Not a walking distance from sea side, but ok if driving. Swimming pool did not appear to be heated at all which in nz climate it really needs to be. We were not able to use either a pool ( very cold water) or spa ( out of order). Nothing. Waterfall into pool ran all night making me want to pee all night. More my insomnia than anything else but not sure it needed to run all night ??. All ok. Traffic noise, too far out of piahia. Everything was great. Pool cold. noisy road close to the unit. the spa was out of order. sorry to have been obliged to 25 dollars for twin beds instead of king bed and that was not indicated during our booking. It wasn't cleaned to a high standard. There were cobwebs everywhere and a heap of spiders. They had vaccumed but failed to vaccum the ceilings and walls. Spa pool not working.
