Loved the place! What's not to like? Don't understand the negative reviews. It is right on the canal, the view from my 2-d floor room was fantastic. It took me a little bit over an hour to get to the hotel from the airport - so easy to get to and to find. Tram #4 stops right on the bridge in front of the hotel and goes to and from the Central Station - and there is a train that connects it with the airport. The room is very basic, but enough for a quick tour of the city (I stayed less than 24 .

We actually had some changes to our room arrangements but we managed to come to an agreement regarding the payment so we appreciated the flexibility. Breakfast was normal, we didn't try everything though, but it was good enough for us. We got a room for 4 and it was spacious with wide windows which created a nice effect when the sun comes in during the day. We had a view of one of the canals which was lovely. The beds were . Everything in the hotel was really excellent! Location is wonderful, the hotel is just in front of the Prinsengracht and you need no more than 15 minutes to walk to the center of the city. The staff is very kind and helpful, but they never disturb you, you even don't notice their presence if you don't need them, as it should be, from my point of view. Breakfast is much better, then expected (after having read the comments). Everything is very clean, new towels every two days. No noise at nig. The hotel was great, it is more like a B&B situated in an old canal house, but it has a lot of character! Dave, the hotel manager, was awesome and so helpful. Our room wasn't ready when we got there but he brought our luggage up to the room so it would be there when we returned. The shared bathrooms were not bad at all and very clean. The hotel itself has a very informative travel book collection about Amsterdam in a couple of languages, as well as a map in the lobby that pinpoints the hotel's exact location and the location of major attractions. The staff are polite, super friendly and helpful. My husband and I arrived a few hours before the hotel's check-in time and were allowed to check in early and were offered breakfast. Lots of natural light in the rooms. Tram stop at the corner, walking distance to Rembrandt Square and bicycle hire. I think this friendly hotel is a very good choice for a couple of days in Amsterdam! It has got the tram station right in front of the door step and the location itself is very good, 15 min walking to Dam's square. Sinks are outside of the shower/toilet which might be inconvenient for some. There are steep stairs, no lifts but that's a given for Amsterdam. They were very steep and there were many of them. Being an older person with a bad knee made it a little tough but do able. Acces by stairs but this is Amsterdam culture in city center @. There was nothing I didn't like, just be warned that the stairs are very steep and could be a little difficult for older people or for very young children. There wasn't anything we didn't like. Limited choice of bread at breakfast buffet. Shower facility can be better. I didnt realise how steep the stairs were. With us being a young couple we found them ok but for anyone who has difficult with regular stairs or small children would have a bit of difficulty. Even though the room and the entire hotel including bathrooms were clean and tidy, there were a few dirt stains on the linen. We loved everything. The room was w/o bathroom and toilet. The price was too big,but for me it was the single variant. Breakfast was OK, but a bit limited in terms of choice. Very steep steps, very small bathroom. The building is not disability friendly as the stairs are steep. Really nothing to say here.... The reception was not 24 hours. If you will do the check-in late or very early make sure you contact the hotel first. The stairs was very narrow (no lift), it's not a problem for us but you might want to consider it depend on your luggage or your accompanion. Breakfast was so-so but appropriate for the price. Not a minus but hotel requires lots of stair climbing. :). Would have liked a better view. The rooms had large windows but where blocked with scaffolding. Quite a few flights of steep stairs! But that's just Amsterdam it seems!. Nothing but not suitable for disabled or if u hve difficulty climbing stairs. After check-out you can leave your suitcase only till 3pm. A bit noisy even with the closed windows. The heating in the room wasn't enough because the windows were not airtight. There was only one power outlet in the room. Steep staircase!. Separate toilet on one floor and bathroom on another. nothing,. Breakfast start of 0830. Could have been a bit earlier. Thin walls so you can hear conversation in the next room. The entry stairs are a bit harrowing, hooks in the bathroom would be helpful.
