This is our first stay at Riverside Majestic and it gave us a very good impression. The staffs were well mannered / polite and helpful. The breakfast spread was very good for simple traveler like us. The initial Deluxe room offered to us looks very nice, appeared clean and spacious but had a strong musky-mouldy smell upon entering. We checked ... the smell actually came from the cabinet housing the fridge. We requested for a change and the reception staff was very helpful to help us sort .

Nice big rooms, clean and comfortable but a bit tired. Comfortable, firm bed, great pillows : they even have a selection of pillows for you to choose from. Very friendly and helpful Front Office, Concierge and Bell Service staff. All the staf are very helpful and friendly , good services , good location. Near by waterfront and riverside mall. Concierge staff were extremely helpful and friendly and were perhaps the one redeeming quality of this hotel. 1) Location and riverview 2) Breakfast good. None. Very happy with the facilities and service. Keep it up Riverside Majestic !. 1. No security card inside the lift and anyone can access to any floor. Bathtub is chipped and bathroom definitely could do with a re-fit. Minibar wasn't working so had no fridge to chill any drinks. Sofa was old with little support. Room Service was just so-so : an unexciting menu and very uninterested service : eventhough I called to inform them when I was done, 8 hours later, the tray was still in the corridor beside my door). The advertised gym no longer exists. The hotel needs some repairs and paint. From what I was told, letsbookhotel.com did not forward the confirmed paid reservation to the Hotel. This caused a big confusion and displeasure to our group. Took us over an hour just to sort out the check in. No Comments. Not much facilities except the pool. Kuching shopping is good but not for seafood. Breakfast. Tea and coffee- need to be hot. Eggs need to be hot. Very busy so very little fruit. I do think staff took note of feedback and were addressing these needs. Need to add more gym equipments. Everything was okay nothing to complain about. Access to parking lot. Really consuming time, especially if parked at level 10 and above. There was no gym facility. I was assigned to room 508 which has no view at all. The view is blocked by the tennis court. I cannot see Kuching city at all. Two of us were bitten, its clear the room had bedbugs. Room had single window, floor to ceiling & would not open: airless. Rooms need upgrading. Lobby has limited seating.Sorry, but not up to 4* standard. Check in waited /takes 25 mins due to a group check in. Group check in should be seperated to a exclusive table /area instead of common reception . Extremely poor and disappointing management and no prior notification of pool, spa gym and renovations is a major let down. We will not be returning to this hotel. Reception desk staff do their jobs poorly, have poor English skills and are ill mannered. Staff are overall incompetent at this hotel. 1) Old and dusty room carpet. 2) Seen many ants in the room. 3) On check-in they couldn't find my reservation although confirmed by letsbookhotel.com. 4) On check-out they tried to charge me for laundry although I didn't order the service at all. 5) Water supply under very high pressure causing water wasting and high noise. 6) Wi-Fi very slow speed. room.
