We stayed at Attilio Regolo last year and came back again. Owners of the hostel have changed since last year. We saw Fabrizio just once, on check-in. He was very attentive and friendly. Thank you very much! This year we stayed in a small double room. This room is not much smaller than a simple double room. We liked that this year cleaning was much better (last year I wrote that floors were dirty), also there is a small fridge in the room (in simple double room we did not have it). Bed was com.
all reviews » We were a group of friends came to join our 25 years high school reunion from around the World. We traveled through some cities in Europe, and Rome was one of our destinations. Olivia, the receptionist, was very friendly and helpful. The location is great, with walking distance to the Vatican, other attractions, restaurants, super market,... The place was better than what I expected for a reasonable price. Olivia scheduled a taxi driver to pick us up inside the airport and took us to the hotel . The Staff: really good communication, most happy to help you with bookings of tours, restaurant etc... name it and Olivia knows- and will help you with your inquiry! The location: fantastic, under 10 min to Vatican city by foot, less than 5 min from Lepanto tube station and many points of interests within walking distances. The rooms are spacious and all different, you can easily shop for food around and have something in the room at night to help with long visit days and tired children. Ideal . The host is really nice, very friendly, very helpful. We arrived early in the day in Rome, but the room was ready nonetheless. We paid in advance so we did not take extra time to check out, which is better in my opinion. Wifi in the room with good reception. Room very clean, tidy, with a mini-fridge in it. It took some getting used to it but that was all. There were stairs in my room to access the toilets. This was fine until I had to use crutches - in which case it became a little bit annoying. Absolutely nothing!. If the rates of the room would have been twice as high, I probably would have complained about the small shower and the hardness of the bed. But with the actual price, I have no complaints at all. This is just excellent value for money!. Advertised as having WiFi but the signal was so poor it didn't work. No staff around to talk to if you had a problem. Did not replace supplies such as toilet roll etc until I asked. Not a complaint: just be prepared to fumble with the keys / locks a bit. Wifi almost nonexistent, no internet surfing and barely an email, sat in the corridor to catch it. It is very hard to reach for staff from 21.30 pm to 9.30 am, so plan the last day carefully. No phone in the room. Room window overlooking the backyard - hard to recon the weather outside and even time of a day.. not easy to find the location especially by car, but only for the first time. Otel was in the apartment's 1st floor. Paid extra to check-in late. Checkout after 0930 later than would have preferred. Small shower. Noisy at times. The parking is in the public garage which is very small so the cars are parked also on the passage which requires you to leave the keys there. A bit weird perhaps, but it was completely safe, so not really a negative point of the hotel, just a heads up. Not much availability at the reception (need to call first on demand) - When we did call in advance they were very responsive and cooperative. The air circulation in the bathroom wasn't the best (no window). Also (not their fault) there were construction noises from a near building (around 0830 am). The rush in having the check out from the hotel. You may hear sometimes noise from other rooms. Limited space in the room and the bathroom, no breakfast. Bathroom could be slightly larger. Nothing. Shower doors are very tight. If you´re slim, no problem. But if not, you will struggle getting inside the shower. WiFi is very weak in the last room furthest from the entrance. Almost impossible to send messages and emails. Paper thin walls so we heard all neighbours and the bathroom was mouldy. Thin walls meant rooms were slightly noisy. The shower was small. A little bit noisy because of the the pets or seabirds in the building. But not a big issue. Thin walls and doors, not suitable for light sleepers, or for longer periods. no breakfast. The bed is not that comfort. Water - sometimes hot, sometimes cold Noisy corridor. the room was dark and the air was damp, so it was impossible to get relaxed. It can be a bit noisy.
