  The great proximity to the port. We got off of our ship, took a complimentary shuttle bus to the end of the port where we were dropped off and walked under 10 minutes to this lovely hotel. It was a 4 star and definitely the nicest one around. The rooms were neat and clean and the air conditioning was quiet! Very important!   I travel quite a bit, but not usually overseas, I have been in Europe several times but by far the hospitality and warmness of the people at the Hotel Miramare was exceptional. They assited us with free transerfers, to the port, gavew us an welcoming glass of wine and did not charge for parkling.   We had 9 people in our family group fly into Rome fco and the hotel shuttle met us as planned and took us and all of our luggage to the hotel promptly. We spent the night and the shuttle took us the next morning right to the cruise ship porters to load the luggage on the ship. The free shuttle to the port and ships was a perfect start to our Mediterranean cruise.

The small water heater for the shower was my only slight gripe, but the rest of the place was lovely. - The host was very helpful and friendly,we would stay there again !
