This beautiful and historic castle is set within 1,000 acres of woodland. On the banks of the River Moy, it boasts a restaurant made from the remains of a 17th-century Spanish galleon. With stunning views of the forest and castle garden, each spacious room is elegant and richly furnished. Rooms include a private bathroom with complimentary toiletries, free Wi-Fi, and tea/coffee facilities. Plasma-screen TVs are available on request. Granuailes Candlelight Grill Room serves fresh country house cuisine, with Connemara lamb and steak flambéed at the table. What people say

Absolutely brilliant weekend. We loved every minute of it! Yes there were a few bits missing like a hairdryer and toiletries but to be honest this added to the unpretentious and relaxed atmosphere of the place. We felt really comfortable and it really was a home away from home. The staff were extremely welcoming and helpful. The castle tour is a must for anyone staying and the food is to die for!!! Best breakfast I have had in a while and the dinner was amazing. Where else would you have a stea.
all reviews The whole ambience of the place as well as the very friendly and attentive staff. The food was excellent and was Michelin Star fare. The warmth we got from staff and the place alike make us wasn't to return sooner rather than later. This is a gem of a place and it should be nurtured. ASll credit to past and present owners. I will certainly be promoting it to all my family and friends. The walk in the woods along the Moy river was truly refreshing also. Would have stayed a week. Excellently run castle full of character, huge log fires, superior dining and friendly efficient staff. Yes the restaurant is expensive but the quality and taste of the food is jaw dropping and we ate there both nights of our stay. I still pander after the succulent drunken bullock and the surroundings. Didn't have time for a tour of the castle, but there is always next time for we will return. We had a very enjoyable stay at Belleek Castle. The rooms are beautifully decorated and thoroughly modern whilst the hotel building itself is still completly original. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and the whole atmosphere was very relaxing. The place has a remarkable recent and past history and we would certainly stay again. The food was of excellent quality and very well presented. This may seem trite, but we loved EVERYTHING about our stay in Belleek Castle. The welcome we got first night, to the farewell on checkout, made us feel as" Part of the Family", which is what the staff seem like....one big happy family, & the food & accommodation is better than first rate. A WONDERFULL EXPERIENCE FOR ANYONE !!!. Our Room (3) was amazing The Food was fantastic The Staff were incredible The castle grounds are beautiful You can't but give this castle a 5 star for all the efforts and Steven the chef is very very talented. From the minute we arrived it was top class service. Paul, Mia and their team work so hard at making this castle perfect. walking around the castle forest and having to see the inside castle old environment with fabulous furniture all around with magnificent wooden bub and living room. Incredible Feeling of ,walking looking and touching. Totally unusual experience to visit a great home, piece of the past. the brilliant welcome when we arrived tired from a long journey at 11.30 p.m. we were offered soup and brown bread plus tea and scones.the breakfast was lovely and freshly cooked and the staff were always asking if there was anything we needed the castle tour was wonderful. i went to belleek castle as a birthday treat,i always wanted to stay in a castle and this ticked all the boxes, the decor was fabulous and the staff ,rooms country side and food were excellent.i would recommend friends /family to enjoy the relaxed experience of it. Pleasent greeting at reception on arrival. Excellent dinner and drinks in the "Armada Bar" very pleasent barman. Lovely room and a very good breakfast. The grounds are there to walk inand enjoy for a walk further explorations curtailed by the weather. Location - walks through beautiful woods to estuary, close enough to walk into town but yet secluded. Home from home comfort, welcome and every effort made to ensure we were happy with service. Excellent friendly staff - restaurant service a delight. You stay at Belleek for the "experience", not because it's "value for money". Staff were very friendly and helpful and food was absolutely excellent - very good chef. Grounds lovely. Very restful place to stay. Thoroughly enjoyable. The castle was very true to itself withouta lot of evidence of modern life in ghe mainareas although the bedrooms had all you needed. There were a lot of artefacts sitting about that seemed genuinely to be very old. Very affordable castle/manor experience. Cieran was a very friendly bartender and the service staff in the restaurant were efficient. The grounds and rooms were nicely kept and the tour and guide were fantastic. good place to stay. very small castle and intimate feeling but not an amazing experience. would i go back ? ...no, see dislikes for reasons why. recommendation spend a little more and go to a bigger castle. The old world splendour of the castle has not been altered, Its as if you were transported back in time. Food was excellent. Very nice and friendly staff. Very good historical guided tour. Would stay again. The food was fabulous, the castle is very luxurious and the staff are very friendly and always go the extra mile. It was my boyfriends birthday and they gave us birthday martinis which was a lovely touch. Everything. The staff were fantastic. The room was fantastic and the food was stunning, beautifully presented and the gourmet menu was some of the best we have ever had. Already planning the next trip. Lovely small castle at a lovely small price! Incredible food - both dinner and breakfast. Beautiful setting. Interesting tour and an amazing wealth of artifacts. Would love to spend a week there!. Belleek is a wonderful Victorian house in Gothic style which has been filled with an eclectic range of furnishings and fittings, including a museum. The staff are welcoming and food is excellent. It was a super beautiful experience and I cannot wait to do it again Mayo has to be the most beautiful part of Ireland and staying at the castle just made it better . We loved it Thanks. Beautiful setting near the river Moy, great food and delicious breakfast. Great hosts and staff very helpful. The park is fantastic with lots of walks around the castle. Divine place. Magnificent House and Grounds. World Class Chef Stephen serving wonderful natural food. Most Friendly and Professional Staff making our visit a unique and most interesting experience. Very relaxing, homely Castle. The food was superb and the chef had just won an award from Bord Bia (Feb. '13) for food quality. Excellent all round cannot recommend it highly enough. Everything was great. Was travelling alone and was made to feel so welcome. Really relaxing atmosphere with wonderful staff and beautiful surroundings. Will certainly be back. Everything was beautiful. It had a real castle feel with authentic "stuff" everywhere. The staff was friendly and as helpful as can be. The tasting menu dinner was incredible. Food was exceptional and the staff were extremely helpful. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble. Would definitely stay there again and would highly recommend it to others. a bit dissapointed with the bedrooms .thought we would have a four poster bed .this holiday was a treat for my husbands 70 birthday.overall not a great sucess. I loved the warm welcome. It was like staying in a friend's country mansion. The staff were so friendly and the food was excellent. I will definately go back,. We had a wonderful time at BelleekCastle. Lovely big room, friendly staff and in a stunning setting. Experience a stay in a castle at a very reasonable cost. The food was superb. The staff were extremely friendly (they gave us free room upgrades). The castle is very cool. It was fun exploring the castle grounds. It was perfect in every way! Very relaxed atmosphere, with attention to every last detail. The food was incredible! Would recommend without a doubt. Location is great, close to town but castle is next to park which provides easy access to walking trails. Staff made stay extra enjoyable. Neat building. Nice people. A bit spooky from the road up to the imposing building itself to the inside. Sort of an adventurous place. Very friendly efficent staff, Excellent Food, Beautiful historic walks on the grounds, We had a very relaxing stay cant wait to go again. loved the decor, the food -excellent and the restaurant management and staff were tops.they were so helpful,Ref:dietry requirements,. It was exactly what my wife and I needed that weekend,Time in luxury for us, Very friendly staff, best hotel breakfast I ever had. A different experience enjoyed the history and historical decor excellent food and relaxed atmosphere. enjoyed the open fires. Great food in a lovely restaurant and a home from home atmosphere throughout. The staff were great and the bar is fantastic. The Staff were very attentive and very friendly, the surroundings were stunning and of course staying in a castle helps. The food was superb and the tour of fossils & armour was very interesting. The staff were friendly and helpful. beautiful site and indoor facilities. gorgeous room with multiple chandeliers. Great bartender in fantastic bar. Excellent 5 course taster-menu, staff very professional. We really felt like being treated like kings and queens!. Old fashioned medieval atmosphere Restaurant amazing, the 'Drunken Bullock' is a must, best steak I've ever eaten. The castle and the extensive grounds are amazing. The staff was very good. We had a memorable gourmet meal . The setting, the 4 poster bed and the knight outside the room, the friendly staff and the excellent dinner. Atmosphere, buildings, four poster bed, location, food, staff, cleanliness. Great place and we will return. Everything. Really homely staff so friendly and accomodating, grounds fabulous and food amazing. We liked the inimate scale of the castle and the warm and open staff. We would return again. It was totally a different experience almost like being rewarded for doing something in life. Leaving. Regarding the hotel itself---NOTHING, but Ballina really had nothing of interest to us per sae, apart from the historic buildings in the town. Shopping isn't great for the females, (according to my wife), & there was nothing that grabbed myself !!!. Absolutely nothing to dislike about this place. High cost for food menu. bar facilities only open evenings not lunch time would have liked option to have snack in bar. Nothing. The bedroom window hardly opened and we died in the heat as we didn't eject to find air con. I didn't like arriving just before 7pm and being rushed to make their dinner time. We traveled and needed showers and a change of clothing, but were not afforded that. - heating turns off around 9 pm so chilly nights - could not accomodate a late check out -was asked to keep the noise down. there was two of us watching tv and it was 1230 am on a saturday -Male breakfast server on the second day was very unattentive. although the girl the day before couldnt be more helpful. Some rooms a bit dated 70,s style. This spoiled the feeling of being back in medieval times as part of the castle residents. The bed was a little uncomfortable and we had sore backs on the second morning. Nothing. Nothing. A very small thing, but better towels and shampoos etc and some bathrobes would have been nice. Nothing on this end. Our bedroom was not the best nor the view. I saw the other bedrooms & they were fantastic. Water pressure in the bathroom was poor. Need more shelves in it and maybe a stool. More chairs in the bedroom. Leaving !. meal prices too expensive consquently had to go into town to eat at a reasonably priced venue . Everything was wonderful!!. Not being able to stay longer. No gym. Grounds might be better lit, outside especially, but inside too. You need better Internet signal around inside the hotel. I noted too late the armory. should that really be only 2 x per day? I'd promote that more heavily and make a free permanent display to draw more customers. promote it!. Having to leave. Not enough time. The next morning for breakfast and checkout.. it seemed to be a one man show... (a little strange). chief dinner staffer condescending and quite full of herself, as if she were the castle.{she was the one who brought the check, not the support staff or dinner greeter who were excellant. Well it's a castle, and still undergoing renovations, so the bathroom facilities are somewhat dated. However the overall ambience more than makes up that minor dig. Pillows too high. Mattress sagged in middle. Only slight problem wifi patchy in my room. may have only been an issue in this area.Still plenty more to keep me amused.
