The hotel is close to all major tourist spots outstanding view (wouldcost you aprox £500 per night next door). The aircon was fantastic, Therooms were very clean and well serviced. The beds were very comfortable.Had a great stay would recommend to everyone the ymca is not a hostelfor the young! It is a great hotel for all ages. Get a room with a viewand be in at 8pm to watch the laser show. The hotel was very convenient to everything! Location was perfect. I felt very safe and comfortable at the Salisbury YMCA. It was even better than I had expected. I enjoyed being so close to the Star Ferry, MTR and attractions. Everything was in walking distance. Having a Star Bucks across the street was an added bonus! I would highly recommend this hotel for anyone travelling to Hong Kong. Our stay was excellent, the staff and location were fantastic. We had the same level of service from this hotel as we did from the top hotel at the Penisula. The advertising didn't do the hotel and it's restaurant justice, we found that looking at the pictures was not the same as being there, it was much nicer. We had a harbour view room and it was indeed an excellent view!!!. Harbour and ferry close by; Twin bed very comfortable; room well appointed, plenty of coat hangers with fresh fruit provided. Having the restaurant downstairs made eating so easy with good range and choices; able to leave luggage both before and after check-in/check-out was very convenient and K3 shuttle bus to/fm airport train outside hotel also very convenient. This was my first visit to Hong Kong and I could not have been happier with this hotel. The location, the food, and my room were all excellent. I looked forward to the breakfast buffet every morning, and I enjoyed the convenience of being so close to shopping, the art museum and the MTR subway and Star Ferry. Also the staff were very helpful and informative. As an older woman travelling alone I wanted a place to stay that was central and safe. The Salisbury certainly met that need. It has single rooms that are comfortable and spacious - tea making facilities a fridge and a bowl of fruit to welcome you. A ground floor cafe with good and inexpensive meals. Lots of staff around to deal with every query. Excellent position by Victoria Harbour, opposite the Hong Kong Cultural Centre with easy access to the local attractions - not least The Star Ferry and Tsimshatsui MTR Station. Staff hugely friendly and helpful. Don't be put off by the "YMCA" bit - this is no scrubby student hostel but an efficient, modern hotel with excellent facilities.Location! I had stayed at the Salisbury ten years earlier and its still as good as then. I highly recommend the Salisbury for comfort and location. Just one note, if you can splurge a few extra bucks, do reserve the deluxe suite as it has a lounge with great views; but the regular double rooms with views do too, they are just much smaller. On arrival we had a free upgrade to a family room, which was great as i was travelling with my son. The facilities were clean and modern and the accommodation was very spacious, with seperate bedroom, bathroom living area. location was central. unfortunately due to lack of time we didnt get to sample some of the facilities at the hotel.Good size rooms which were very clean, complete with all amenities like aircon, tv, valuables safe. The hotel staff were efficient and friendly. It's in a great location; safe, convenient, lots of places to eat nearby, and a short walk from the harbour with amazing views of HK island. Would definitely stay again if I returned. We had a harbour view room on the 10th floor. We had an excellent view of the harbour and the light and Laser show at night. I would recommend a harbour view room to everyone staying at the hotel and I would also ask for a room above the 10th floor so that the view is not affected by buildings on the other side of the road.I have stayed at the Salisbury before - it was recommended by an ex Hong Kong resident. The staff are helpful and friendly, the position of the hotel is terrific, right on the harbour, close to the Ferry and easy access to the shopping areas. It has a cafe on site, and very comfortable rooms. The positive reviews are spot on. This is the hotel bargain in HongKong. Clean and comfortable. We were on the 8th floor (recommend youspend the little extra for the full harbor view) and the view wascertainly among the best in town. Great location in Kowloon-- walkto anywhere.Location, accessability to airport express dropped us off right at the hotel, size of the rooms, right in the centre of everything!!! Will highly recommend to all travel agents. was surprised at the high standard of this hotel and the friendlines of the front desk. The position of the hotel in Kowloon was superb and the staff especially were all really excellent. They were all very friendly and helpfull, my room was was great and next time I will book a suite so that I can have a room with those amazing windows and view.We loved everything about the Salisbury YMCA, especially its central location and proximity to the subway; the standard of its rooms; its excellent staff and the food at both the restaurant and the ground floor cafe (the best fried rice in the city). Staff were very helpful as our baggage was delayed and advised us promptly when it arrived, also arranged a very early morning call to our room on day of departure. Bowl of fruit in room was a nice touch which we did not expect. Excellent location.the hotel was very central to most of the places we wanted to visit, the value was very good compared to other hotels we looked at in the area for this visit, we had been recommended this hotel by a friend how had stayed there 2 years previously. Fantastic position - close to Star Ferry and fabulous views. For a budget hotel unbeatable. Only problem about giving it rave reviews is that more people will want to stay there, and booking will be more difficult! We'll definitely be back. Our room was mentioned"Partial sea view" so we didn't expest so much, but the view was marvelous !! that was more than partial. And the room was tidy, cozy, the location was perfect, the staff were very kind. Try hair salon in GF as well. We stayed for 7 days in a harbour view suite with our two young children and loved it. Location is excellent. Only a few minutes walk to Ferry, MTR (subway) and buses. Hotel is clean and staff are helpful and friendly. Highly recommend. It fitted my needs excellently. I was on a short trip and wanted acentral location with affordable but high standard amenities. TheSalisbury ymca provided both. I shall come back again to the hotel for astay with my family. everything! it was amazing! the staff were so friendly and attentive and the room was clean...the complimentery fruit in the room was a great touch - it was much better than a lot of 4 star hotels that i have stayed in!. We were thrilled by our stay at the Salisbury. The room was beautiful, spacious and clean and welcoming with a wonderful view over the harbour. I would highly recommend it to anyone as an unforgettable experience. Glorious location. Outstanding service from very pleasant and capable staff. When one of us got ill we were treated with great care and understanding. Room 1631 is a great room if you like views!. The bowl of fruit on arrival was appreciated and the views of the harbour from the harbour view room were great. Overall the hotel was excellent value, with a great location and good restaurant. Excellent location, price, and hotel service!!! The family suit was big enough for 3 adults and a child. I will definitely stay at the hotel again for my future trips if rooms are available.very strategic location. just a minute away to Tsim Sha Tsui MTR Station, close to shopping area and close to avenue of the stars. branded boutiques located just next door. great location!. The hotel was ideally placed within walking distance to the ferry, buses and shops and restaurants. Everybody was very friendly and helpful. The hotel was comfortable and well furnished.harbour view room excellent, change of towels good, cafe downstairs excellent as late arrival meant we could still have dinner without having to get dressed up and go out of the hotel. close proximity to the subway, the ferry, and the shops not to mention the view from the room. The staff is very helpful and friendly. Staying in your hotel made our visit memorable.Excellent values for money. Centrally located. Good facilities which we used including the pool and spa. The staff were very helpful and the rooms were clean and all that we needed. Staff was very polite and helpful. Rooms clean and quiet, restaurants had great food and kind staff. I love this hotel of all of the ones in Hong Kong. Best value for the money.Brilliant hotel - good location and very friendly staff who could have done no more. The room gave an excellent view of the harbour. Absolutely recommend to other travellers. We loved our room. The view of the harbour was beautiful. We also liked it that we and our children could stay in the same suite. We also loved using the swimming pool. It's close to shopping area(harbor city mall), our room has a very good view of victoria harbour.. Room is very clean and huge... Staff are very efficient and helpful.. WE visited Macou. Lantau. Shopping and we did the bus tour and went to Hong Kong Philhamonic concert. Eat Fabulous meals in Lovely Restaurants. It was a Fabulous Trip. The family room was great with the 3 interconnecting spaces, the curved window was good for watching Hong Kong go by. We were travelling with 2 small children. The genuine friendliness of the staff; the range of facilities eg cafe plus formal dining room; fridge in room. morning newspaper; the terrific position.Comfortable beds, internet connection, harbour view, location, room safe and the easy availabilty and friendliness of staff for extra teabags and milk. I thought the hotel was extremely good value for money and the view was incredible. I stay in Hong Kong quite a lot but never in one with such a view. We had a corner room with the most wonderful view. This was really a highlight for us. The service in the Cafe was also of a very high standard. Fresh fruit in room, friendly staff, perfect location, recieved an up-grade to top floor and a larger suite, such a lovely experience, thank you!. We had a wonderful stay at the Hotel. The staff we very helpful, The position was great and I would have no hesitation in staying there again. we stayed here for 7 days in a harbour view suite with our 2 children and loved it - the staff were excellent and we will definately be back. very helpful regarding looking after luggage before and after check-in and check out while seeing sights. very friendly staff at all levels. Pleasant staff, great location. Helpful with all our needs - late check out, holding of our luggage, taxi's and timetables. Just fantastic.Great location, friendly/couteous/helpful/responsive staff. Convenient location - good facilities - altho room was small - but adequate!!. I like the location, service, and fair price, but especially thelocation. I have stayed here a number of times over the last ten years. It is fairly pricey for a single room and the extra service charge isquite annoying -this should be included in the room rate. Mini bar was expensive (use the 7eleven behind the hotel!). There was nothing that I didn't like about the hotel. Walls a bit thin and you can hear some street noise, but it's a city after all, and it's nothing a pair of earplugs won't fix.I will highly recommend the hotel to my friends as there was nothing that I did not like. Nothing about the hotel. Just one single note, don't shop at electronic stores around the area with "SONY" signage on the front entrance. Please go to authorized distributor such as Fortress or other electronic stores for Cameras, Mobile Phones, etc.air conditioning a little cold. We found the temperature in the restaurant at dinner time a bit chilly.No. It is so central to all amenities and I'd recommend it to anyone. I noticed but this did not affect my stay the wear and tear on the bathroom. some of the bathroom suite had been damaged. this is a very minor point and really did not cause me any trouble. You advertise that there is an FM broadcast synchronized with the 8pm Harbour Light show but the provided clock radio could not pick up the signal. The only thing we would have liked different about our room is to have a door between the sitting room and the bedroom.no iorn in room. No, nothing, it is all good.
