I liked that the room was super clean, updated, and there was no smell of smoke anywhere in the hotel including common areas. Very tidy experience. Also, in room 22, I could stick my head out the window and look up and down the river Neckar. Note that the furnishings are modern which is fine by me because they were comfortable and served my needs well. Breakfast included. Staff spoke English. all reviews »
The staff was friendly and the location was great! Our room looked out on the river and the old bridge. The view was beautiful, and the location is right off the pedestrian zone.Loved the hisoric building, and the location overlooking the River Neckar and beautiful bridge. Close to transport services/rail. the friendly welcome, the comfort, the nearness to the centre of the town and the good food.Staff friendly and very helpful. We followed a suggestion for dinner and it was fabulous!. The staff were positively eager to help me with every question that I had about the hotel and about Heidelberg. The room was cozy and clean. The free breakfasts were simple, delicious, and efficiently managed by the hotel staff. Nice breakfast area, but quantity and selection of food items was limited when compared with other small German hotels. We would have like more options at breakfast.Parking garage was about three blocks away. No elevator.The evening concierge was not too friendly and seemed put upon by anyquestions we had or our request for extra towels. Also, our shower doorsneeded some repair (the rubber spline/caulking was falling off) andthere was a bit of mold here and there in the shower. Finally, there wasno elevator (but then, this is a very old hotel so I really have noright to complain about that). It is an older hotel, but everything was clean and in working order. Parking garage was a few blocks away, but not bad overall.No bar. Need some hooks in bathroom - needs a lift - limited breakfast choice. the price of internet differs than that of stated on internet. Extremely noisy after hours, with revellers partying till 3 and 4 in the morning outside on the street on the night we were there.No lift--long walk up with luggage. Disappointed with buffet breakfast--no hot food available other than special order for boiled eggs. Small bathroom , minor breakfast. no lift and risky stairs. It needed painting and decorating - it seemed tired. The elevator is missing; the wireless network is not for free. Would have preferred a Hotel with a lift most of the area around the oldCity is heritage listed and the owner told us it was not possible toinstall a lift.There is no lift and having to carry a suitcase up three flights of stairs is no fun! The breakfast was meagre and uninteresting. Washbasin lacked a plug, yet when this was (politely) mentioned at checkout the receptionist appeared totally indifferent and made me feel that I was being a nuisance in mentioning it!. modest breakfast. room was very simple with a small set of stairs to go from the entrance of the room and show to the lower level of the room under roof. very simple small TV. small gloomy entrance creates a poor first impression.
