We are a family of 4 - 2 boys ages 13 and 7 and stayed there in July
2013. This hotel is in town on the Main Street near shops and
restaurants and away from the train noise. Bacharach is small so walking
the town in an hour is realistic. You won't find a fancy hotel here.
This hotel is in a historic building with lots of charm. It was
accommodating for the four of us in a quad room with simple, practical
decor and a reasonable sized bathroom considering it's Europe and in

We didn't see much of the host but check in and check out were straight forward.
The rooms were comfortable and we were provided with 2 cots as requested.
The breakfast was minimal but fine.
Bacharach is absolutely beautiful. We enjoyed looking at the shops and also the carousel for drinks and snacks.
We had dinner at a pub and found that it is more known for its beer than its food but still ok meals.
Great location to explore this beautiful village and close to the river so you can arrive by .
Rooms were very comfortable and spacious. Breakfast was ample and very nice included in price. They very happily stored our bikes inside for our stay at the hotel and this was not a problem at all. In fact, nothing was a problem for the lovely owner - she was very very nice.

Ideal location in a beautiful town. Good service and breakfast. Room and facilities clean and comfortable but fairly basic as you might expect in an older hotel. Parking free - an easy 2-minute walk away by the river.
We really enjoyed our stay here. The breakfast was delicious, the staff friendly, and the town quite pleasant. It was a little bit of a walk from the train station, but nothing too terrible. We would stay here again.
Very convenient location, right in the center of Bacharach. Beds were very comfortable, breakfast was good. The bathrooms were quite roomy and modern for an older European style hotel.
This hotel is in a great location along the Rhine River in the quaint city of Bacharach. The room was clean, comfortable, quiet and fairly priced. The breakfast was very adequate.
Suggest taking the 11am tour on the Rhine with the kd company to
Bacharack arrive 3.30 pm Stay longer or leave next day by train. Boat
tour free if using Euro Rail pass.

Terrific location in the small, picturesque medieval town of Bacharach in one of the most interesting and picturesque parts of the Rhein River.

I liked that Hotel zur Post took us back in time, the room was comfy and breakfast was served in a traditional setting.

Nothing to not like. It served its purpose as a stopping point down the
Rhine River. Bacharach is better suited for a day trip than an
overnight stay.
The hotel has a lot of stairs which is difficult for carrying up luggage and small children. It would also be difficult/ almost impossible for a disabled or frail person.
It was quite a haul to get the bags up three flights of stairs - suggest if you are travelling by car as we were that you pack an overnight bag and leave the case/s in the car.

No elevators, but we knew that going in. Staff was very helpful with luggage.

Concerned abt third floor room and fire safety. Also it was a high,
steep staircase with questionable railins betweem 2 and 3. (It was
probably the 4th floor in the European floor-numbering system.).
