Set in its own grounds, very peaceful, excellent parking. Our room was excellent, large and spacious with good facilities. The food was excellent, although the menu was limited and didn't change for the three nights we were there. Tours is a very upmarket and cosmopolitan area with lots of historical sites. A good base for the Loire Valley and Chateaus. Beautiful, very relaxing, great to wind down after a few days on the road. In it's own grounds and away from the city. Food was very good and with a nice wine what more do you need. Spa very good but book in advance, also kitchen very busy so if you want to eay early book also. Staff very nice and very helpful. This place is a gem.
all reviews » Excellent Hotel, really comfortable, excellent friendly staff, could not believe how luxurious the rooms are and the fact that they were pet friendly was a superb blessing to us, as our dogs go where we go!! Could not fault the Hotel and would definitely stay there again and again. . a super start to our France de tour! you cannot ask for a more friendly and efficient team than this. It is a bit away from the city center, but all this is relative in a small city. And, frankly, that only adds to the charm of this place. It is THE place to stay. The room was very spacious, certainly in comparison to most French hotels. Nice pool and spa area, lovely garden surrounding the castle. We really loved the excellent restaurant and the friendly staff!. Very modern and spacious rooms, which is not a given in the region. Friendly staff all the way. Parking facility. The staff were friendly and the dinner was very good but the restaurant lacked a maitre d' who would have pulled the professionalism together in the bar and the dining room;it fell short of 'fine dining'. Good restaurant and breakfast, nice spa area, quiet location. Due to its location it is a 30 minute walk into the centre of Tours, but worth it due to the views across the Loire. Difficult to find thank heaven fo sat nav, roadwork at time main reason. Actually nothing. Stone floor in the corridor where we stayed meant a higher noise level when other guests arrived late at night. Tv didn't work and was not fixed the evening we stayed at the hotel. Pool & jacuzzi could be cleaner. Not being able to stay longer. Cost of breakfast and lack of alternatives nearby. Noise insulation between rooms very poor. We could here all the noises from the room next door. Snoring/coughing/ toilet sounds. I probably will choose another bigger room in my next stay. coffee maker in the room was not effective.The following is not a - At the moment it is difficult to get to because of major project adding a tram system into the city. This will improve city access considerably when done giving good link to center of Tours. I have no time to do the special massages and the condition air was off by 2 nights!!! The man from reception at night ,who we call, doesn't do nothing!!!!!!!!!!!!. closet doors and bath doors open into each other. Frogs chirping in the pond at night were AWFUL. rooms outside the actual chateau are are part of a senior housing complex. Nothing. Limited car parking. Location not walkable to the city. Distant to The downtown. Zimmer sehr hellhörig!. Having stayed at the hotel when it was "Jean Bardet" and been knocked out by everything about it,we were aghast at the residential development for the elderly on the site.This did nothing for the ambience for a once great hotel. Expensive breakfast ( € 19) price for what it was. Rooms are relatively small.
