It was our second stay in the hotel. The hotel is situated right in the centre of Reims in the walking area. There are a lot of restaurants and cafes nearby. The restaurant of the hotel is very good, breakfasts are very tasty and quite substantial. Reims Cathedral is just a 7-minute walk. Since our last stay in 2011 the hotel has been completely repaired and renovated and now has 3 stars. We had one problem: the safe in the room didn't work properly. After the fail to repair it the staff upgrad.
all reviews » We stayed here for one night before flying home from cdg. This hotel is a 2 minute walk from the Gare de l'Est, which is very convenient if you are arriving or departing there. The staff were very pleasant and helpful and moved our room to a higher floor when we asked. It was unusually hot in Paris that day, so we left the window open with the fan on at night as there is no a/c in the hotel. Despite the open window, it was still quiet as our room was in the back. The room itself was small but a. The facilities,comfort and location are excellent.Good for the price!It is just in front of Gare de l'est(and 5 min walk from gare du nord).There is also a bus stand in the front! Quick and Mc d (and some supermarkets)are nearby.Hotel is clean and well located. They allow us to leave the luggage there after check out in the morning.We can collect it on the way back to the airport/railway/bus station later.Staffs are 'ok'-no complaints - but I felt they can be a bit more friendly; at least a smi. comfortable rooms. spotless clean. elevator to third floor a great asset. ample breakfast in cozy surroundings. proxmity to train station and metro directly outside the hotel door. 24 hour security at reception. plus they hung on to the luggage after checkout for a few hours. overall i couldnt fault this hotel. good value for money in Paris... Very neat and clean. Located very close to the station. Lot of local shops nearby including quick n mcd. Sufficiently spacious and all good and neat modern amenities including minibar and dryer. Metro was across the street, super market around the corner. Room had a fridge and a great shower. What more do you need when you are traveling on a budget? I will stay here again for sure. It is opposite the Paris Est Rail Station which is convenient for the people travel from other Europe countries. The receptionists are very friendly. It's a comfortable 15-20 mins walk to Notre Dame and the other side of the Seine. While its not in the best suburb, it is on a fairly busy street and fine to walk at night back to the hotel. Worth the money. Access to public transport was excellent: Hotel door opens directly to entrance to Gare de L'est metro station, and a 4 min walk from Gare du Nord. Room was decent-sized and clean and had a good view. The staff were friendly and helpful. The size of the room, the closet, the clean toilets and bathroom. The male staff tried to help me enunciate what little french words I knew and their directions to places of interest were on the ball. A good location for traveling from Gare de L'Est. Subway and many buses right outside the door. Friendly staff. Clean. Cheap for Paris. Good speed internet, at least in our room. Just across the road from Gare de l'Est, which was ideal as I had an early morning train to Germany. Also, the Metro station nearby provides easy access to the rest of Paris. Very close to Gare de L'Est. Back room with window on to well meant a quiet one but not much of an outlook. The staff speak English and are helpful. It is close from Metro but I found out later on Metro stations are available a lot in most places in Paris and close to each other so do not panic. Its proximity to the Gard du Nord station. Close to railway station. Everything is ok. The water temperature and water pressure in the shower in the morning were unpredictable, switching from hot to cold and from a strong flow to a trickle without warning. That was the only thing we didn't like. the area outside the hotel is typical of what you get near a station and metro... a bit daunting after dark but we had no problems. Staffs are not very friendly though they help. A little noisy outside the hotel in the night. need more power outlet and lightning in rooms but its not that big issue if not. Poor soundproofing (typical of an old building, but luckily neighbours were not noisy!. A little dated but still clean. The attitude of the reception for the guideness was poor. No welcome no bye. It is a lettle bit small. Noise from people talking on the streets through the night. The guy at reception during the day wasn't the friendliest and very curt with everyone. When we asked for an extra wifi password he commented that we were greedy... When its one password per device thats a given that you ask for more passwords when you have more than one phone/device - especially between 2 ppl..that's what we paid for!!. The neighbourhood is not the best, but the hotel itself was fine. Getting up at times for the room to be clean. Paris is 6 hrs ahead of our time and we did not adjust to the time well. The breakfast did not cater at all to vegetarians. Old furniture. Very small bathroom. Not very good surroundings, especially at night. The room (especially the shower room) is small. It was comfortable rather than luxurious. This was not a problem for me as I was only staying one night and had an early start next morning, so apart from sleeping I spent little time there. Old fashioned room and facilities.....but clean. The shower area/tray were very small. I would have loved a bath tub. The noises from the other rooms ceased only around 2:00 AM, until then: cracking floor, TV, people chatting away 1 or 2 floors above, no possibilitiy of sleeping. 1. No Air condition and the room become hot when it is sunny day so you struggle to sleep in the night and you cannot open the window because very crowded street and too much noisy even mid night! 2. One of the receptionists (white hair) not polite and not patient at all but others are good but I saw the white hair is there most of the time! 3. The area is not safe and not clean during night so you have to be careful! I will never ever think to go back!. The room was cramped and the walls so thin that we could hear everthing that was going on in the next room and the room above. The shower and bathroom were also very small. Nowhere to store bicycles.
