  The couple that manned the desk are very friendly and accommodating. They helped coordinate our adventures on the Li River, taxis, and provided great information for a great time on the Yangshuo town. The location and atmosphere are absolutely perfect and we wish we could have afforded the time to remain a couple more days to just chill out enjoy... what people say » this little paradise. Well situated near River Li where the boat from Guilin stops.   We had booked 2 nights in a hotel in town (reviewed as quiet one) and 2 nights at Village Retreat and we wish we had spent all our days here! So much nicer to trade the awful Chinese disco sounds and scooter alarms in the morning for the ballads of birds and frogs, the perfect place to relax after all the cities! They booked taxis and shuttles, helped us with reservations, and were all fluent in English.   We loved this hotel, great staff, who spoke better English than the staff we cam across in other hotels in China. Also you get a discount in many restaurants which is great!   Friendly staff, they arranged bikes for us to rent and a car to drive us to Guilin airport very early in the morning. We also felt that the price of around 400yuan for two nights was very affordable, considering how nice the place was. The bathroom was very nice, shower had hot water instantly. Comfortable beds.
