Friendly staff who all tried so hard to accommodate my needs. Had trouble printing out my online flight check-in and the manager was most patient and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. Easy access to the Bund and heart of modern pulsing Shanghai. Also loved the fact that the hotel was also close to the older authentic pulse of Shanghai, with no tourists around. Hotel was right in the middle of two extremes, which made my experience so more enjoyable. Great value for money and I will definit.
all reviews » this is an excellent hotel, with great service. check-in was easy. the rooms have just enouth luxury to make you feel you're in a high-class hotel, it had a nice view of city. and the rates are very affordable. breakfast was nice, it had both western and chinese food. the location is very good because it is within a walking distance from the bund river. i would definitely stay at the riverview hotel again. there was a miss communication with regards to the room that we had booked but the manager was able to handle it without we had to pay extra. We liked the hotel -clean, very accommodating and we were attended at once every time we have problems. for the price we would certainly would recommend this hotel to others. Lack hotel, a room with a computer and printed for use by hosts at no cost. Despite using the Bussines center, paid puco was confused due to indioma site, and paid 10 RMB for a single printed sheet. The hotel was amazing, beautiful interior, brilliant location just on the Bund, the rooms were huge, overall a fantastic experience, I would really recommend ths hotel and best of all it is fantastic value for money. The location was excellent for leisure activities/shopping during the day and night as it was close to the old shanghai streets where we got the city view tour bus and also for the riverview cruise which were a bargain. We took a Superior River View room and the views were fantastic - day and night. Just a few minutes walk to the southern end of the Bund's promenade and ferry terminals, easy walk to Cool Docks and Old Street. the hotel is near the Huang Pu river and Yu Yuan Garden. The location is quite good although the main door is not facing the main street . The Wifi is also available in the room , so it's convenient. Thee place is decent. But there if I go nexttime to shanghai I will get a closer location to ppeopl's square. This hotel is just in front of the bond which is a rever side walk. I loved the service! There was a man named David who spoke excellent English and another man who helped me check out. I almost cried when I had to leave (true story). River view from 18th floor is still excellent. Rooms are well equipped, they could be a bit larger. Good breakfast with a lot of varieties. Good value for money. The staff speaks english and is very helpful. The staff was generally friendly. The hotel is located about 5 minutes' walk from Yuyuan Garden and the South Bund where the Huangpu River tour is situated. The fridge in the room was a normal 50cm tall fridge and had limited offerings, so lots of space to add your own water/drinks. Even though the breakfast was nice,it was pretty average. I would like to suggest that the gym should open 24 hours by using hotel electronic key. we were there a few times when the drinking water was running out. Work on the building began around 6am and we were restless being unable to sleep after that.It did not caution you during the preview. Although aircon was switched off in the whole hotel there was always a flow of cold air into the room. Unfortunately, it takes about 15min walking to the next metro station. But then you are within 2-3 stops of all major tourist attractions in the city. The front desk staff didn't help much as their knowledge of English and tourist area are poor but the concierge guys can help you a lot better. Lots of construction work going on near the hotel. Upon arrival, front desk was a bit rude and total deposit required was doubled of our stay price so we ended up with extra rmb. This may be commonplace throughout China, but the smell of cigarette smoke was pervasive. Bed was a bit hard, but more of an observation than a complaint. Staff were not very friendly towards foreigners but still helpful at every point. Air con wasn't sufficient although there was a heatwave. Staff asleep at front desk at 5am. The so called river view was blocked by another building. None of the 3 rooms we took really had a "river view". Instead, we had a view of a huge ugly building under construction 2 of the receptionists were not experienced at all.... it took us over 30 mins. to check in, and also to check out. The reception and the lobby manger do noT have a good attitude towards the letsbookhotel.com customers and they charge extra as a deposit and they do not know how to expilan it to the customer. Wish we had got a river-view room. The staff in fact gave a very small single room initially but after we argued and showed our booking, the room was changed. The staff spoke too little English. the price wasnt that cheap, so atlease they could put breakfast included. It is a bit far to walk to the Bund and the hotel is very difficult to find (taxi drivers generally don't know it). Personnel is extremly weak on English and not at all helpful. Receptionist speak english but have a seriously difficulty to understand you and your needs. Very hard bed - I mean really hard like a board. The room didn't have an amazing view but it was ok anyways. The hotel is quite hidden so if you need a cab you need to walk a little bit to get one (but I can also say that we asked twice the reception to call us a cab and they did it without any problem). Very unfriendly staff. Not value for money. Staff doesn't speak English, also when trying to get a taxi from metro station the cab driver did not want to take me to the hotel. Perhaps there should be an option to translate the name and address to local language. Officious staff at front desk. Other staff in restaurant, cleaners etc were good or helpful or friendly. This seems to be a common problem in China at hotel reception desks where some staff are not that friendly or helpful. staffs. The Staff's Behavior is very bad and they can't handle any issue.
