My husband and I stayed here for two nights during our visit to Niagara Falls, Ontario. The reviews by others regarding the friendliness and knowledge of the owner proved to be true. We were allowed to check in early, as a room was ready when we arrived at 10 AM. The owner gave us the best advice about everything we were planning to do. all reviews » The owner of the Motel, Emilia makes you feel like a best friend staying at her house. She was always helpful and available if something was needed. The room was extremely clean. The location was perfect for everything we wanted to do in the area. The mattress, pillows and sheets were of high quality. (Almost as comfortable as the Westin). The room was tastefully decorated. We will stay here all of the time and have already suggested to friends and family to stay at The Rex. The televis. Staff/owner exceptionally beautiful people very informative and gave good tips for savings like free parking available by falls where some spaces were $20. Motel was clean I mean exceptionally clean fresh smells not a spec on floor or shower, very comfortable. Next morning my family went out came back rooms were all fixed as we 1 st arrived. Staff is very trust worthy not one item missing I had Ipad, passports wallet etc left in room everything was there. They great you and check throughout to . My husband and I needed a weekend getaway. We found this charming Rex motel. We only planned on two nights, but because it was so charming we stayed for three. If you are looking for elegance, cleanliness, and a wonderful kind hearted staff, this is the place for you. This place was a million times better then when we stayed at the Hilton...I would call the Rex Motel, a bed n breakfast of motels...So don't waste your money on big ass hotels when you can have it all AT THE REX MOTEL..... see yo. The REX motel was very clean. We arrived 2 hours before check-in. We were shown 2 rooms and allowed to pick the one that we liked the most and had time to relax and nap before we even checked in. Our stay was very relaxing and quiet. The owner gave us tips on where to park and what to see. Our favorite thing about our stay in Niagra Falls was the cost of our motel and the extreme cleanliness. After having stayed in a well known hotel and finding bedbugs......the REX motel was a palace t. We loved our host. She is a lovely person with a motherly spirit. She treats all of her guests like family. She took out time to tell us little secret spots of Niagra Falls. We were delighted when she brought us fresh baked pastries. The rooms smelled wonderful every single day. We loved how perfectly clean everything was. The rooms were decorated beautifully each with their own little theme. We loved this place. We left some things behind and she offered to send them home to us!!. The staff at the Rex Motel were so kind and friendly, and extremely welcoming and helpful! We were able to choose our own room and Emilia brought us a home-baked Bulgarian pastry. She even upgraded us from a queen to a king as a surprise at no extra charge. The rooms were all very nice, had everything we needed. Comfortable beds, extremely clean rooms and bathrooms, nice shower with good water pressure, and all the amenities you need, including high speed internet!. Words cannot describe how incredible the Rex Motel and staff are! The room was so clean I could have eaten off the bathroom floor if I wanted to. The decor was so beautiful and each room is decorated differently. It was bright and amazing. The owner was so friendly and left us pastries and bananas. She also showed us what to see and where to go. I cannot wait to go back! More so just to stay at the Rex again :). The room was a "bit" small but,,,, to me,,,,, 9 out of 10 is 5 STAR..... For a one -two night stay, the Rex Motel was a great find for us. We wanted something near Niagara, but not too close, under $100. Everything seemed clean and well taken care of. The staff could not have been friendlier. Liked the fact that there was a refrigerator and microwave. When we opened the door to our room, a swan made out of hand towels. Never seen that before! Nice touch. The staff (owners) was very friendly and helpful. Our room was very clean and updated. The grounds were tidy and lots of lush flowers. The price was right, too. We stayed there because of the reviews we read. We were a little skeptical of the high reviews, but, we now agree with them. For the money, this was a GREAT place. Without a doubt, we would stay there again. Each room had been given special attention in their renovating this older building. A middle range motel in excellent condition, with attentive staff, very comfortable first rate bed. For walkers and bicyclists -- close to the Dufferin Islands Park access to the Niagara Falls Recreational Trail -- we had a great all-day ride up to Niagara-on-the-Lake and back. My experience at the Rex Motel was phenomenal. Emilia made us feel right at home, and she even went to the trouble of getting a gift for our one-year-old (he had his first birthday while we were at the motel). Very clean and neat, and I loved the decorations (each room is different). Way better service and value that what you'd probably find right on the strip. This place is awesome. It felt like home away from home. No sterile,generic feel u get from the big chains or anywhere that i can think of. Each room is decorated uniquely different and with so much attention to detail. The owners Simeon and Emilia make u feel like long lost friends. I would recommend this motel to any and everyone!!!!!. The host was incredibly friendly and gave us great advice about the best way to see Niagara - it definitely changed our experience for the better. She also facilitated a VERY late check-in, leaving both the Wi-Fi password and a welcome snack waiting for us in the room. I whole-heartedly recommend this place!. This is the second time we stay at the Rex motel and we will stay there every time we come to Niagara Falls. Very clean, close to everything, comfortable beds, personalized rooms. I really appreciated having a mini fridge with a freezer And a tray full of ice cubes. The pastries and towel swans were a nice touch. I had noted in the booking that we couldn't arrive until late in the evening. The owner called me that afternoon to let us know our room and how we could gain access after hours. It was so wonderful to walk in to such a great room after a long trip and not have any hassle. Very friendly family run accomodation who were very helpful. The rooms were so clean and amazingly decorated to incorporate a theme. We had the Tuscan room. A snack in the afternoon was a bonus too. We didnt have a car and found walking down the to the bus not a problem. The design of each individual room shows extra care. This is the cleanest motel I've ever visited. Emilia was wonderfully friendly and helpful. She even baked a pastry for our arrival. The shower and bath were great. The restaurant across the street was also friendly. the room was perfect no clock no phone. king size bed very nice bathroom. I was able to park my Harley right outside my door. it is one level. clean linens and great housekeeping. very nice owners. very helpful answering all my questions. very biker friendly also. We had an unbelievable experience at The Rex. Emilia is one of the sweetest people we've ever met, and she made great recommendations on where to eat, shop, enjoy Fallsview. I will disagree with one reviewer who said you could walk everywhere - it would be a 30+ minute walk at a fast clip to get downtown, so plan on taking your car. It would be nice to have a bathroom fan; but the central air which was flowing helped. I was happy that i brought a small fan of my own just to have air circulating. It was a humid week and the fan helped. The small fridge in the room did not keep our food very cold but the freezer worked well. We were fortunate that the guests in the rooms beside us were not too noisy. I have no complaints. More than good for value. 2 miles from falls and all shopping and downtown close. I can keep going on and on but there no more space. I would return and recommend for all budget shoppers. We liked everything!. Everything was fantastic. Can't think of a thing... The room was a bit small and hard to navigate for 2 people, but for one night, it was just fine. Got a good night sleep,. What's not to like?. No problems. Not a thing. No downside at all. Nothing. We liked our entire experience. The location was a bit further out and required extra taxi rides. But because it was a little further out, it was very quiet and uncongested. We didn't need AC or heat, but didn't see a control for either. No real dislikes. People going there might want to know the room didn't have a clock radio or a phone, but these days almost everyone has a cell with an alarm clock anyway. Climate control isn't accessed in your room. A fan would be nice during sleeping hours. Nothing. It is a bit of a walk or a 10$ taxi ride to the action, however that's how much you would pay for parking at any if the other hotels, which came at no additional cost at The Rex. There is nothing that I did not like. Too far away to visit more often! :). the water in the shower could have been a little warmer. Some road noise but got used to it. No clock or phone in room.
