The hotel staff were very friendly and provided a lot of information on the resort upon check-in. The two bedroom sweet was ideal for us and was extremely clean and the kitchen was equipted with all the essential appliances and accessories to cook just about any meal. Great stay and if I am ever in Banff again I will booking here again and would recommend this hotel to friends as well. Thanks for the wonderful night!.
all reviews » Our family happy to stay in a 2 bedroom suite with the amenities provided. The comfort away from home and serenity of nature, God's beautiful creation in front of you, speaks of its magnificent work of His hand. Two kids teenager and young adults enjoyed the amenities and especially fine dining set up, with the help of dishwashers. Very clean and spacious. Everything we could need in terms of equipment, dishes, etc. Ease of accessing parking was a plus. Friendly staff. We went in the anticipation of spoiling ourselves on Valentine's Day and were not disappointed. Bathroom facilities were excellent. - fully equipped kitchen - BBQ on porch - huge bathroom - closet in the bedroom was nice - overall layout of suite was GREAT! - the gym/weight room was FABULOUS!! - bathrobes, very comfy - towels good quality - washer & dryer a BONUS!! - iced water at the front desk. Servcie was great, facility was great, the appliances and kitchen supplies were more than adequate. It was a great escape for my husband and I along with our 4 boys, their partners and a grand-daughter so it was accomodating at all of those levels. I liked: full kitchen with utensils, plates, silverware, wine cooler, Air conditioned, toomy, two baths, fireplaces, view from balcony, provided bbq, tv channel selection, proximity to grocery (and other) stores, wonderful staff pet friendly. The layout of the whole suite & its luxury & newness. The view from our windows. 75% mountains. The "useablity" of the suite, with a well stocked kitchen for making our own meals. Great comfort & family friendly. Spacious, comfortable, view of mountains. Only one night there so didn't use spa etc Enjoyed being able to relax make own breakfast and coffee was good! (We stayed there on recommendation of friends in Australia). When I first enquired about a crib and high chair there was not one available - I got a call back and they located both for us from a sister property. The indoor parking was nice on cold days. Modern, spacious rooms, large balcony with bar-b-q and dining table. Loved the shower with 4 heads. 2 bathrooms were great for family of 5. Well equipped kitchen was a bonus. Staff were friendly and answered questions easily and eagerly. Thorougly enjoyed the spa facilities. Was so happy to be able to bring my dog. $20/Nite very reasonable. Loved the staff - all were very helpful and cheerful. The view from our large balcony. How easy booking was. We could bring our dog and he was welcomed by all staff. Spacious rooms, nice bathrooms. Inviting kitchen, nice corner fireplace in the living room & in the bedroom we stayed in. Had everything we needed. Loved having separate sleeping and living areas. Felt like home. Everything! The top floor suites are spacious with full kitchen faciliaties. Good value for money. The decorating and obvious building construction quality were over the top.. Liked the set up of the rooms, the showers and the decore in the rooms. The room was very big, but in accordance with the price. No really complaints from myself but travelling with teenage girls they like their sleep and around 8 in the morning the garbage truck woke them up emptying the dumpsters. A wider/deeper swimming pool for older kids and adults who loved to swim. Organized checking in on right suite, we were at the room given to us after 5 minutes two groups trying their keys to open our suite, wrong location. Washing machine in our room lasted for almost an hour, keep cycling without going to rinse or spin unless you turn the dial to spin/drain out. Dial not working/stopping automatically. A bit of a stretch for our budget for two people. That said, we went in the expectation of spoiling ourselves - and we did :) . - booked one bedroom suite, thought the room was too small (tight squeeze) suggestion: Queen size bed instead of King size - larger cutting board - had a shower, the water doesn't drain as fast so the tub fills quickly, this could be dangerous for children, or even a slipping hazard for adults. There's nothing I didn't like at Solara. The pull out bed was a little awkward. Not a normal style so we thought we broke it at first. The BBQ on the balcony didn't work. Maintenance were very nice and got it to work with a extension cord - could have been a problem for dinner if we hadn't checked it out the day before. The garage is very dusty from the grit from cars - hard to overcome, but not something that we liked and our route from the Aurora bldg to the pool area was through the garage. Loud door outside room - reported on check out. Dishwasher and Washer/dryer available but not the soap. Suggest limited quantities of these be added to the room's supply. A little pricey. Leaving :-(. We were in the Aurora complex facing the courtyard where the barbecue are. There is a massive silver vent (or something) there that roars all of the time. There was also a fan of some sort in our room and, frankly, the constant white noise was terrible. We would stay here again but not if we faced the courtyard. Awkward placement of spa and lobby. Only one lift from the carpark that can be a bit of wait sometimes. faux fireplace, part of the reason we chose the suites. Main Hot tub not working, tv in bedroom didn't work, light bulbs out. No pool and hot tubs not big enough. Room wasn't the cleanest (found dirty robes and towels in the hamper) there wasn't any laundry and dish soap and we had to keep asking every day for more. The suite was extremely noisy due to very noisy parkade fans audible through closed windows, a noisy dryer fan that did not shut off when not needed, As an engineer who designs similar systems I was shocked and disapoited. Nothing. I did not like when I went to check out in the morning...I Was expecting my bill to be $478 as per what it said online when I booked it. But instead I received a bill for $635. Huge difference. Our shower was luke warm at best. Multiple reports to the front desk did not help. Door from hall into the bedroom. You can hear the people above you walking around. Internet signal was so weak i could not get access. TV channels was not hd and could not connect to Netflix. I didn't care for the pool area and it would have been nice if there were a steam room. Nothing. view. paid for a view and did not get one. Walls are thin and could hear people walkingup and down at all hours Welness are not part of hotel so could not pay in 1 bill. Alittle bit of a mase. On morning of check out we had no hot water to shower . There sas problem with boiler staff said . I realize this is no-ones fault , but at same time we paid alot of money to stay there . I think that we deserve a offer to come back at a discounted rate for the inconvenence . Thank you. Not logistically easy to get around resort. Noisy could hear upstairs noise. The size of the hot pools Way too small. Our balcony was dirty and therefore would not have used the BBQ to cook a meal. It was a bit soulless, maybe better if you are in a large party, rather than alone. Did not have maid service after I was told they would come so I called again and they sent them up but they said they would only give us new towels. I was not happy as a cheap hotel even has daily maid service. The condo had a bad smell to it. There was an old bar of soap behind the tub. The beds were not that comfortable. My bath water was blue. The deck was quite dirty. I was given the wrong room key then it was replaced with a key that didn't work. 3rd times a charm. The hotel room was dirty. Towels left on floor from other guests. Toe nail clippings in bathroom floor!! Tv's did not work. Deck was filthy with BBQ greese. No view of mountains for $350 a night!. it was very noisy from the air conditioning to noises from others in the hallway. The fact that the rooms would not be cleaned on a daily basis was not displayed in plain language anywhere. The lights on the balcony were inoperational. After long days in the Rockies, it was unfortunate to not be able to BBQ in the darkness. On the first night, after I complained to the front desk, Brodie kindly claimed that he contacted someone to get them fixed, but on the 2nd night they were still not. Not impressed. It was not clean, there was dust bunnies all over and the carpets were not vacuumed either. We found Doritos behind the coffee pot, the appliances were not clean, the room had not even been dusted. When we told them all they said was sorry that's it!!!!.
