From our pick up at the airport by a vintage jaguar to our sad departure the entire experience was wonderful. The staff in every department were exceptional, polite, well mannered, well spoken, and considerate of our every need. We had a minor issue on our first evening as the wifi was a little intermittent, but we were moved immediately to a superior room, at no extra cost, where the wifi was excellent, and when we extended our stay for four more nights we were allowed to stay in the same room.
all reviews » We really enjoyed staying in room 301. There is an elevator, but hey you're in Cambodia, climb some stairs if you feel intrepid. The staff are extremely nice and not overwhelming. We loved our tuk tuk guy Nang, he is not affiliated with the hotel, but by the third day the hotel had great orange shirts for the tuk tuk drivers who are outside the hotel. We travel a lot and are not looking for 5 star luxury. We were pleasantly surprised by teahouse. The pool was relaxing and comfortable with pools. When I first searched for accommodation in Phnom Penh for our trip, I read recommendations about Tea House, and the decision was made basing on the reviews, When we checked in and after spending 2 nights there, everything is far beyond our expectation, the professionalism of the staff, breakfast, location, room cleanliness, the quality of the food, the refreshment are excellent. I haven't stayed any hotels at 3 stars having a nice, spacious and cozy lobby like the tea house. The restaurant c. Wow! As soon as i walked into the lobby, i felt at home...bright and spacious, what a relief from the hot and dusty streets of phnom penh! Upon check-in, we were offered a welcome juice by very friendly staff, and though it was still early (we had arrived on a morning flight from bangkok) and the standard rooms we had booked were not available yet, we were instantly upgraded...clean and spacious rooms on the 4th floor, with city views (and yes, there's an elevator!)...it was all very good value. Initially booked for one night, ended up staying for over a week due to excellent rate and comfort. Staff were incredibly attentive, but not over the top. Breakfast excellent, ample choice and great atmosphere. Room was good, air con great, rain shower was fantastic. Room service excellent, amazing burgers... Pool is big enough for a dip, they don't advertise an olympic sized swimming pool so it serves its purpose as a release from the heat :-) Reception staff very helpful and efficient. N. Thanks to the promotion offerred with discounted amount, so we able to book the room. We just have stayed 1 night, but in overall the service is extremely good from the staffs. I love the lobby interior is very cozy and relaxing. Value for the money. There is Tuk Tuks awaiting outside the hotel, so it is not difficult to getting around the city. Else, you can enjoy the walk to the riverside or Central Market which will takes about 15mins walk. I would love to recommend anyone to stay at this h. This place beats more expensive hotels because its like a small Oasis...allowing you to escape the endless tuk-tuk driver requests with very friendly/helpful staff: -Reception is open-plan with free access to via internet via 4 computers -Excellent help with Bus journeys, mine to Siam-Reap -Breakfast Buffet -Omelette's made the way you like! -Fresh Orange Juice -Ice Available whenever you require -you'll need it! -Free Baggage storage (whilst I spent 2 days in Siam Reap) -Bun King the Duty Mana. From the warm staff, the lovely room with great shower and big window, the great breakfast (including plenty of fruit, eggs made to order and good coffee), and location, the hotel was perfect for our needs. The staff was super helpful with renting a motor bike, obtaining a Vietnamese visa, and answering even the smallest questions we had. The housekeeping staff is attentive and the computers in the lobby were very useful. Great spot in a great city. It was a wonderful hotel. The staff was extremely helpful friendly and polite. All the facilities worked. The hotel lobby is just so cosy and amazing, like a small oasis. A good value for money hotel. The staff booked the bus tickets to HCMC for us incl. transfer to the bus station free of cost. Also they recommended what to do in the short time we had available. S21 is about 30min walking - it is just so much closer to the real life there if you walk a bit and be in touch with them. The pool is quiet and relaxing. Also the food is pretty good. Strangely enough, no refills for coffee, though the rest of the breakfast was plentiful...it's my only point of criticism on an otherwise excellent hotel!. Only negative really was water creeping in through the windows when it rained, but these were torrential downpours, and someone sorted the window out straight away. They did not provide water heater inside the room, though a hair dryer is provided. We wanted to chill out and kill time by the pool until we had to check out on the morning we left, however we couldn't do it for construction that was going on just front of it. So that was a disappointment, since they stopped me from using the pool the other evening as well. But it's not really worth mentioning, The hotel itself was amazing. Room a bit small but not a problem. Maybe the TukTuk in front of the TeaHouse is a bit overpriced but I didn't mind the additional 2 or 5 USD as I could relay on them. The massage room was rubbish! I wish that the room was more relaxing and comfortable and not so bright!. Leaving the hotel. The room was a little on the small side, just a small rail and a few hangers, not much space to unpack into. Roughly a 30 minute walk to the central Palace and riverside area or $2 in a tuk-tuk. Very little. Breakfast was so-so, and a kettle in the room for making tea would have been nice. Apart from that, I would highly recommend this place. We didn't complain, because it didn't bother us that much, but our room was above the restaurant and in the early morning you could here the staff getting the place ready for breakfast. None. Nothing really. Only thing was bar was expensive but hard.y unexpected. not much room to place your belongings (no closet / wardrobe). for a couple of days it doesn't matter though. None. Nothing!. For this price,($29) there is nothing I didn't like. Well the swimming pool is very small, it is just to refresh. Poor bed. Tea at breakfast was too hot. (something that really annoys me, I don't want to wait 15 minutes before I can drink my tea) No pancakes for breakfast. Tiny little things, like better functioning toilets, a bead of silicone to stop shower leaks on floor. They did such a good job, it is a shame to miss the details. No thing special!. Very small pool Rea-size of a plung pool and only a handful of loungers. Only slight negative :). They were building next door so that was slightly intrusive but this happens!. Our room was utterly small. Once the door was opened, the guest was obliged to jump into the bed for there was hardly any space to set foot in. We noticed as we walked down the corridor that not all rooms in the hotel are of the same size. The swimming-pool is so tiny that it shall better be referred to as a bathtub. Don't use the hotel foreign exchange, you'll get better rates elsewhere. I tried to change Thai Bahts to us dollars and had a few problems!. No tea/coffee making facility but I guess they would have provided if I requested it, but I didn't so still ok. Better bring your own toiletries (toothbrush, toothpaste, etc.) as they only provide a small bottle of shampoo and body wash. But then again, it was not an issue for me as I always bring my own personal toiletries. Nothing. Shower went cold after about a minute and a half, no hot water from sink for shaving, no kettle in the room. Only two minor negatives. The pool is a little small, limiting the actual amount of swimming you can do. And the hotel is about a 15 minute walk (or a 3 minute tuk-tuk ride) from the hotspot by the river. But these are very, very minor niggles. The bathrooms were very tight fitting. The swimming (pool/bath) is small. everything was good. The design of the bathroom in the guest room can be improved. Something to separate the wet and dry area. Breakfast was okay.
