A few steps away from National Museum and royal palace .. could even see the roof of the museum from 3rd floor hotel room .. many restaurants and stall nearby .. particularly a roadside coffee stall opposite of the museum, the coffee is superb.. The staffs are friendly, particularly Mr Sorphon who arranged for airport pick up and met us personally at the Phnom Penh airport ..he speaks fluent English. .
all reviews » The staff was very friendly, the big room was really spacious with high ceiling and very quiet, the bathroom was nice and neat. We then moved to a smaller, cheaper room: it was really smaller but still nice and clean, with good taste. The Wi-Fi works well too. The location is very central, you can easily reach every part of the city. Room was huge as was the queen bed. Located opposite the Royal Palace and museum and one block from Pub Street and the river front. Restaurant meals very tasty. Breakfasts limited but again tasty and you can order from the menu and pay. Manager very helpful. Solid hotel, good staff, HUGE, large room and brilliant location close to the river and right next to the royal palace with plenty of sights a 5 minute walk away. The big room booked online, which included the breakfast, has a very good value for the money. But the" small rooms" are very small (though nice and tidy). No tea or coffee making facilities in room. Staff member allowed a tuk tuk driver to over charge for short trip to a service shop we did not know distance to. No issues, a little plain perhaps, but can't complain for the location and money. There is no lift, only stairs. They are very steep. 8 flights of stairs to my room :(. The air condition is not cold enough for the hot weather. There is no elevator and to much stairs to climb. It is hard when you were in the 4th floor. It was a basic hotel so don't expect too much. Nothing. Staff was kind of rude to us. The wifi was really slow and not functioning properly. Only thing I didnt like was the "night-guy" at the reseption. Every night I walked in around midnight, alone, and the reseptionist suggested that I should go out again, find me a girl, to bring with me to the room. Off course he also mentioned that doing so I had to pay him some money to let her in. No problems, just a bit unneccasary - I could instantly see in his eyes that he was up to no good. Basic but clean I suggest they paint it in fresh new colours and then the place is stunning again. Lots of stairs. The breakfast was awful but other than that decent value for money. No window... Just a closed balcony. It is REALLY a budget hotel. If you spent an extra 10-15 euro and you can get much better quality hotel. Room adequate for a few days stay but perhaps in need of some refurbishment. Seemed rather dark and gloomy. Also we were on the fourth floor and there was no lift. Seemed a long way up when returning from a day out. Breakfast poor. Little choice - ie omelette and bread. But enough to get you started for the day. nothing tht i can think of. Old furniture in the room. lack of lift. Not realy cityview, not realy a terrace in contrary to the discription of bookings.com. No lift access to our rooms which were at level 5. There was a fridge in the room but it wasn't plugged in at first, so it wasn't that cold (and had a slight foul smell because the door had been shut). The breakfast was decent but had very limited selection. The WiFi worked pretty randomly. There was no lift or it didn't work, so we had to take the stairs to the top floor (which was only a minor inconvenience but might make a difference for some people). Unfortunately the staff changed frequently on the front desk and their English was very poor. There were many stairs to climb to rooms and beds were very hard, although this seems common in Cambodia. Room is very basic and small. Staff wernt very friendly and always seemed more interested in watching YouTube clips all day. Breakfast was ok but limited. Hotel didn't seem safe as our window was unlocked when we checked in but was made to look like it was closed - however we didn't have anything stolen. Breakfast was rather poor and we ate out evey day but one needs looking at as we had a meal one evening and was quite good. The staff not so friendly. Refused to pack our breakfast as we had to leave early at 7.15 am. We saw other travelers from other hotels carrying their packed breakfast into the bus. Wanted cash and refused to accept credit card. When we arrived we were put in a room that had nothing to do with what we booked: small and dark with no windows instead of the big bright room we were promised. We could move to a bigger room the next day, after being pushy that we would not be again put to a small crappy room. The next room was good, big and comfortable as in the pictures. Airconditioning was so so. Eventually the staff was friendly and helpful. Staff Not helpful everything. The room was quite clean the first day bot nobody cleaned it after our check in (3 days / 2 nights)! Initially the staff seemed to be kindly, but they asked continuously about our plans trying to sell us anything. They were disappointed wen we bought bus tickets in another place. Finally we were afraid and paid a part but felt like stolen... In fact, we were stolen.
