We made this trip by train through the lovely countryside. It was very easy to locate the LinzerGasse and the Hotel from the Bahnhof. Th - We loved everything about this hotel. The location was superb (1-1/2km to train station and walking distance to old town Salzburg), the street (Linzergasse) was pretty and vibrant, the hotel was clean and very comfortable, and the service was excellent! If you love to stick your head out the window and see what's going on in the street below, ask for a room facing the front (fun!). There are also lovely quiet rooms facing the back. The manager was extremely helpful with advice and suggestions

  The rooms are exceptionnally large and clean, with nice furniture. The hotel is quiet, though located absolutely nearby the center of the city (8 to 10 minutes from downtown). The restaurant of the hotel, though we didn't have the chance to test it apart of breakfast, is excellent.   This was an amazing find. Literally in the heart of old Salzburg; close to the water, Mozart's birthplace and the French Church with a beautiful panorama of the city. We suspect because it's only newly open (rebuilt in 2010-12) people don't know about it yet but it is without fault. We made good use of the kitchen area for cups of tea, breakfasting, and also chocolate from the vending machine. After several nights in noisy city hotels, we were thankful for this location with mountain views from each window, away from city noise, but just a 15-minute bus ride into Salzburg from a bus stop 5 minutes away. Breakfast was bountiful and we had delicious dinners there both nights.
