The staff (or family in this case) was so nice and accomodating that Iwould definitely stay here again. It's a pretty easy walk to the hotelfrom the main train station, although I get lost usually my first timein every new city. Area seems safe despite some "adult-based" shops thatAmericans may equate with a bad neighborhood, which it is not. Hotel isadorable, by the way. We would rate this hotel of one of the best we have stayed at. It is close to the main rail and bus stations ,also good restaurants. Walking to the town centre is an easy one about 15 to 20 mins.

If the occassion ever arose to stay in Salzburg again, I and my family would certainly stay at the Hotel Hohenstauffen. Very friendly and helpful hotel staff. I did not feel too secure in the general neighbourhood. A longish walk to town centre. Bus transport expensive. Rooms were too dark - decorated in brown and only a small window. A clothes washing service was advertised in the rooms but when I asked them to do mine they didn't seem interested.

The hotel is situated in a residential area but also close to the main train and bus station, only 250 meters away. The hotel is located in a quiet side street and many bicycle lanes are very close.
A 15 minutes walk will take you to the old town and the Mirabell Gardens.

The bus number 2 will bring you to the airport.

Your hotel is located in the "orange" zone. Please take highway exit" Salzburg Mitte" and follow the orange hotel route until you reach your hotel. Second description: Highway A1 Exit Mitte/Center Leave the highway at the exit Middle/ City Centre. First follow the direction to the city centre, then keep going straight on until you reach a big bridge. After bridge, turn left at the first traffic light in the Haunsbergstrasse, then turn right at the fourth street. At the end of this street (Stauffenstrasse) you will find the Hotel HOHENSTAUFFEN on your right. Hightway A1 Exit Nord First drive to the centre, then take the direction Maria Plain/ Itzling. 200 metres straight on, turn right and at the next crossing, turn left. Take the Bahnhofsstrasse and continue straight ahead. After Hotel Renaissence, turn right and take the next street left. You are now in Elisabethstrasse. Go straight on and 150m after the traffic lights you will find the Hotel HOHENSTAUFFEN on your right. Highway A10 Exid Süd Follow the directions to the City centre, cross the Nonntaler bridge, turn left after the bridge, go straight on and drive past the National Theatre and Mozarteum (Schwarzstrasse). Continue straight on (Haunsbergstrasse). At the fourth street(traffic lights) before the company Gramiller, turn right into Stauffenstrasse.
