  We had three rooms- two with balconies and one without. All were a little bit different, but very cute. The included breakfast was a great way to start the day. They were able to hold us luggage for us the following day. A note: While I appreciate that the invoice included a tear-off coupon for the salt mines, it ends up that's it's only for 1 per... what people say » son! So if you want a 2 euro discount for each person in your group, make sure to ask the front desk at Gasthof Bergfried for additional vouchers. - Loved the location, very close to center of Halstatt. If you are using gps don't trust it. The street is the first one on the right as you come out of the tunnel. Street looks like a small one way but the hotel is close with good parking. If I hadn't been watching the gps so closely I would have seen their big sign. Very nice big room but the location was awesome and town beautiful.

  Beautiful hotel location surrounded by mountains and the lake. Very helpful and friendly staff with a great continental breakfast and the dinner menu at the restaurant was incredibly good! I had the lake fish dinner 2 of the 3 nights we were there. - Stunning location. I had a room with a balcony viewing the lake. I don't think you need to look beyond Gasthof Rosslwirt for budget accommodation, cleanliness, comfort, great location, nice breakfast, free wifi (though it is sometimes weak but doesn't really bother you on a holiday as you are there for a trip and not for internet surfing).   We booked our appartment for 6 nights. It had a large bathroom, kitchenette, dining area, sitting room with the tv, and bedroom- all very modern and it was cleaned and kept spotless each day. We anticipated doing our own catering ,but the quality of the breakfast buffet , and the quality and price of the dinners was so good that we ate in every d... what people say » ay. Parking provision is good and right by the front .entrance.Extremely pleasant proprietors.The lady of the house speaks extremely good English, and - Good location at the crossing of Rainerstraße and B154; easy to reach from the Mondsee Straße (B 154) . Close to the city center and to the beach (walking distance). The hotel's parking can accommodate all the guests' cars (there is also a second parking that belongs to the restaurant run by the same family). The breakfast was OK both in quality and variety. The room was spacious and comfortable. Hint: ask for a room in the ground flour, then wi-fi will be available in the room too.
