We stayed for 8 nights at this fabulous accommodation. The studio was very well equipped kitchen, bathroom and comfortable large bed. We over looked the garden with barbecue ,garden and pool. The staff are very friendly and recommended and booked days out for us. Would defiantly stay again. Port Douglas is a relaxed small town with great bars and resteraunts and good shopping.and the accommodation is in easy walking distance. The beach is a 5 minute walk.
The staff were extremely helpful and friendly, with booking a bus from Cairns to Pt Douglas for us and to assisting with tours. The room was clean, very roomy, the airconditioning worked well, and the fan was very quiet - which is always good! I thoroughly enjoyed staying at Port Douglas Retreat and will certainly stay there again. It was close to everything - the beach, the main shopping street, the Sunday market, etc. Excellent!!!.
We loved the peaceful, quiet location with a totally relaxed atmosphere and gardens. Jenny in the office was really helpful and had loads of local knowledge and tour information. Really easy to walk to the shops, the beach and the marina. It's a beautiful part of northern Aus.
Really friendly staff. Very helpful. Room was clean and quiet and faced onto the pool which was lit by flaming torches in the evening. Nice tropical setting. Room had kitchenette. Hotel is walking distance to beach and all shops and restaurants. Very comfortable. Perfect!.
We stayed for 4 nights and were very satisfied. We went SCUBA diving on the Calypso and the Silver Sonic boats, both can be booked easily at the front desk. Very quiet and the pool is wonderful (bigger than it seems in the pictures). We had room 24 and it was perfect.
Staff were so helpful with questions and anything to do with our stay.

It was obvious staff did everything they could to maintain a very well kept retreat. Pleasure to stay there and appreciated the wonderful service. Will be back!.
David and Joyce were so helpful in recommending reef tour operators, arranging snorkel days for us, and helping us figure out what we were going to do when not on the water. The architecture is attractive, and the poolside bbq-area is a little bit of paradise.
Excellent location for town and beach, very relaxing atmosphere, Lovely pool and BBQ area, Jenny on reception had good local knowledge which was useful to us when booking our day trips. A great place to return to after a long day out to relax,.
Very warm welcome by our hosts, who helped us with our bags to our room. Our room with kitchenette was away from the pool by choice was very peaceful. close walking distance to everything. great value for money. would return.

The location was fantastic - just a short walk to the main drag in Port Douglas. The apartment was a good size, although the kitchenette was a little small. The staff were nice and it was good value for money.

The location was the best we could walk to town or to the beach..the staff was so very helpful not only with things related to the hotel but setting up day trips and helping us explore the area.

The Resort is located 2 blocks from the marina,2 blocks from the beach, and 2 blocks from the shoppings center. It was perfect for us.

Didn't like having to pay for extra towels if you stayed less than 8 days.Only received one towel each for a week.
Bathroom a bit dated. Towels rather thin and you had to pay to have clean ones . They are only changed every 8 days. We stayed three nights and really needed them changed because of the quality of them. I do realise this keeps the cost down. Another cost cutter is that they only supplied one small soap pp. and no shampoo. Tea and milk on arrival only.
Outdated air conditioner is very noisy. Pool water was a little too cool for me although husband thought it was fine. Car parking is first in first served.
Our room #4 faced the aircon/heater unit near pool and was noisy,
just to have veranda door closed.
Small rooms, twin beds right next to each other. Small limited kitchen
area. We had one of the "tree view" rooms which are directly
above the car park area. So found it was quite noisy when guests left
very early in the morning.

The beds weren't great. The reception had limited opening hours on the day we arrived (Saturday), but mostly the fact that the owner made it very clear I was disturbing him in his plant-watering duties when I wanted to return the keys at 8am (reception didn't open till 8.30).
A bit stingy on provision of tea bags and coffee.
A change of linen and floor clean mid week would have been appreciated.

We got the corner room, very noisy with traffic and night-time revellers returning home at 3.00 am. We made the mistake of not specifically requesting a quiet room which I usually do.
