I really enjoyed the overall comfort of the hotel and that everything was at your fingertips. As I was on my own my priorities were security, comfort, a restaurant and room service options. These were all very well catered for as well as the hotel being very central in terms of shopping and night venues etc. We found the Gateway Hotel an excellent place to stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. I was impressed with the cleanliness of the room, particularly the bathroom. Absolutely fantastic value for money.

Breakfast more than adequate for the price. Very clean, modern with good in-room facilities: well stocked fridge, spacious bathroom. king bed, good choice of lights for reading. Walking distance to shops and city sights. The room was grate very comfortable it was grate the food was good we had to stay just for the night for a rowing thing but we are definitely ping to stay agen. Very comfortable bed, recent refurbishments to the room decor and closeness to restaurants and helpful, friendly front counter staff. Really nice renovations. Crispy clean sheets. Breakfast was excellent. Bar area nice to relax in. Close to everything, an easy walk. staff in bar were great although the restaurant was booked out for a function but not many tables to eat at. The meal was good. The staff were lovely, the accommodation very comfortable and the location very convenient - walking distance to the mall etc. I like the space and tidiness. I like where it is located to shops and everything else. I like the facilities in the room. I liked the facilities eg restaurant, gaming and how central the location was to the boat & for short day trips. Room spacious. Modern facilities. Free use of laundry! New decor and bathroom were very nicely done and the bed was extremely comfortable. The price was excellent. The Brasserie/Restaurant was excellent, great menu and service. The only things that had me a little confused was the room service calling in at 9 to re-stock the fridge with water?? Wasn't sure why this couldn't be left until check-out time. Most people would be showering etc at this time and wouldn't want to be bothered. Nothing. Perhaps the staff member, upon our arrival after a long day's travel, could have been more welcoming. (Only a minor point...). I liked everything. No negatives. I had room 108 which although was lovely on the inside was not so great during the night when the bottles and rubbish was dumped in the bins outside my window!! there was also a lot of talking outside my window at times. I strongly suggest you do not use this room or at least have a different rate for this room and warn people accordingly. I did not like the service received when I checked in at counter. Staff on the 22nd of February at about 7pm assumes that I knew what was going on at the counter such as $50deposit, to signing form that I did not know about from day 1 I booked the room and the time I rang to pay for accomodation. I could not feel comfortable after this situation occured, though I was not prepared to pay more when I have only prepared to what I needed to spend for holiday. Having to come home. nothing. We stayed on a Sunday and the restaurant and bar were not open, the only dining option was the gaming bar - I don't like to eat in rooms full of pokies!! The staff recommended a pub around the corner called Molly Malones and we both had a lovely and very affordable meal there. The shower was a bit dodgy. breakfast a bit pricy, reception a bit 'jammed up' for quick get away. Had the lamb rack for dinner on Friday. Was hungry so ate everything, but the potatoes were badly overcooked. Bathroom door too see through. Breakfast was too pricey for what it was. The glass window between the bathroom and the bedroom. Bathroom - glass door with no lock or latch...not very private for people who aren't on intimate terms!. Servcie at restaurant could be more prompt. no faults found. The VERY noisy people across from us. Not the fault of the hotel however. There was nothing we could fault about where we stayed. Would certainly recommend this hotel and stay again. Carpark adjacent to Hotel used by guests and also for social events at the venue so was full. We were not advised of other car spaces which we could use adjacent to the venue and ended up parking out on the street at the back of the venue which as an elderly parent had mobility problems was not the best outcome. Staff need to remember that most guests are probably tourists and would appreciate a bit of customer service from them. TV reception was poor at times. Likede all. nothing negative about the hotel. cant think of anything. I would have preferred to be able to take a swim. Nothing. It exceeded all expectations. Running out of Tas wine - Tamar Ridge. I didn't really like Devonport. only the stairs at the car park could do with ramp and auto door. Noise from car park all night Needs ramp from car park saving trying to lift heavy bags up back stairs. Our room was like a sauna. The sun poured into the room and there was no air conditioning - just a fan which was useless. No mini bar facilities.
