Maybe not 5 star, but definitely the best motel we stayed at in a 2 weeks visit to Tasmania. Modern furnishings - had everything. View of sea as well. Close to Spirit of Tasmania. Quiet location, with friendly staff, and great restaurant, reasonably priced. Meals were excellent Large bedroom with waterfront views. Coffee and tea facilities in room. It is in a convenient location for users of the Spirit of Tasmania. After the long crossing it was nice to not have to travel far to reach our first nights accommodation.

The proximity to the Bass Strait Ferry terminal and outlook over the Mersey. Easy transport by the ferry to the CBD. I loved the king size bed, the staff were vey friendly and helpful, wonderfully clean rooms. Would stay again. Nothing,disapponted I was awake all night vomiting up the meal, Location for spirit of Tasmania was excellent. The restaurant is fairly good. The fish and chips is so far the best I have had in Tasmania, fresh and tasty. Proximity to Ferry Terminal (convenience of location for departing guests). The Manager's generous help with transport-well above our expectations. Reception staff was very helpful and friendly.Very clean. Next to Spirit of Tasmania, saw ferries leave and arrive. comfort of bed. quietness of room. room service meal. Large room and comfortable bed. View over the river. The rooms were clean (two mattresses zipped together as a King bed??) The meal was great and the service friendly.. Arbitrarily assigned upstairs room - was able to get room changed as we are elderly (77 and 70) and cannot easily manage stairs. Motel booked months ahead. Get staff to glance at the ages of the guests before assigning rooms. Nothing. I didn't like the pillows, but that is only a issue. Small ensuite,noisy neighbours actually here the T.v and people talking in rooms beside where I stayed,outside lights appearing through the gaps in the curtains.wind on the making movement,cars park directly outside the rooms ,disturbing when trying to sleep.meals over priced and small servings,childrens meals,are meals children dislike,very disaapointed in this hotel,staff have attitude. The hot water supply is not very stable, sometimes it gets cold in 10 second, when you reduce the cold water, it becomes hot again. Nearly burn me!!!. Nothing in particular. Very small rooms for the price. room a little shabby, could do with a freshen up. The hotel closed at 8.00 pm just when I was looking to have a wind down drink. Noisy extraction fan in bathroom. Could have a bit more variety of meals to choose from in the Bistro/Restaurant. No free internet access Not closet to CBD. Drab to say the least exterior !... Needs a better. Paint job ... Looks like a warehouse. I didn't find toothbrush, toothpaste and sneakers(. Advertised foxtel movies with no Foxtel.. Mentioned this to two separate staff and was literally laughed off. No one was even slightly prepared to try and rectify the problem.. Tv is no big deal but we did not receive what was promised and paid for. I thought the accommodation didn't match the price, and I was charged $10 dollars more on one night for no apparent reason, the charge of $120.00 a night not justified. Freezing cold room. This is the only hotel that I stay in that do not pre-warm the room. I thing these rooms need a make-over, similar to the upstair rooms. The Edgewater is now the most out of date hotel that I stay in in Tasmania. Perhaps as you are linked with Spirit of Tasmania a prescence at the ship when berthing would help patrons on foot find you and maybe produce more business from those with no pre-arranged accommodation. Reception area smelly put me off having dinner there. Surrounding streets not friendly and nothing much to do, have to drive to Devonport for shops. Shower water pressure soft. No shampoo. No mini bar. The "king size" big was two single beds joined togther. No meal in evening. Very small room, bed too big for room, not good for extended stay, good overnighter, convenient to ferry, fridge would not freeze water bottle. The separate hot and cold taps It is 2013!!!!!. Value for money terrible. Cheap make over. Advertised Balcony (not). Right on the street & no access. I think this motel is worth about $90 a night. The area is questionable and its in the middle of no where.
