The ambience at Middle Ruddings is excellent. The staff have a laid back easy going efficiency and pay much attention to detail;nothing was too much trouble. A most charming inn set in a beautiful location overlooking Skiddaw. The staff were exceptionally friendly and as for the food - what can we say but 5 Star with emphasis on top quality local produce cooked with flair and presented with style. The breakfasts were exceptional especially the smoked haddock. Everything! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, both at the hotel and the Lake District itself. The location was lovely, the staff and food were excellent and our room was better than we imagined. We didnt want to go home! Well worth the money we`d paid. We`ve already said we`ll definately go back there either later this year or next year. - I thought

The property was convenient and clean. The staff were all so helpful and friendly. The view along the park and river is beautiful. We loved it and would definitely suggest the place to others. We parked right along the road by the hostel. -

The food was just wonderful; the room was beautifully appointed; the location was delightful with lovely views; the service was outstanding. All in all we had a delightful three days half board - we would have been fed up not to have booked in for dinner! The friendliness and helpfulness of the staff really made the stay for us.

I very much liked the friendliness of the staff. All were polite, helpful and welcoming.
After a very long walk one morning, I arrived back at the hotel half an hour after breakfast ended, but even so, the chef was more than happy to make me some food - I really appreciated it.

The hosts Gerry & Trevor were very welcoming and always happy to help and advise on trips/days out/walks etc. offering plenty local knowledge which was very helpful. The whole B&B was spotlessly clean with added extras in the room eg bottled water, cotton buds, tissues. Breakfast offered a wide choice from fresh fruit and cereal to a full english and it was all fresh and delicious.

Good family-run hotel. Owner stayed up to open the door with a smile for us even though we were running late and reached only at 10pm. Next morning, his staff said if you want anything to eat that they don't serve, she'd go and buy for the future breakfast. WOW.
Location is great and room is clean. TV is antique, really cool.

Amanda was very welcoming and the homemade cakes were a nice touch. Our room was bright, clean and fairly spacious and breakfast was excellent. The B&B is in a quiet location but close to the town centre, which has plenty of shops and restaurants. It was very helpful being able to borrow maps and guides. -

have been to the Coledale Inn many times for meals over the years but this was our first stay .We found the experience a delight.A wonderful greeting on arrival.A spotlessly clean room-tastefully furnished and nearby residents lounge.A happy place to be and we had a perfect nights sleep.Breakfast was served by friendly staff in the dining room and was very good.We will be booking to go again and will recommend it to all our family and friends.

It is a lovely Guest House in a very good location. Maria & Mary were very friendly and helpful in every way. Our room was a good size with bay windows overlooking the hills in the distance. Everything. Clean spacious room. Tea coffee biscuits all provided. Bathrobes as well. Ensuite was spotless. Connor nd his mum were excellent hosts. The breakfast was excellent with a choice of fresh fruit cereals. And a full English . Parking was outside the hotel. All in all an excellent weekend was had. Highly recommend this guest house .

When we got to Lakeside House we were personally shown to our room - No 1. The room was very roomy, comfortable and nicely decorated. The bed was huge! Everything! Warm and friendly, welcoming, respectful, happy and competent staff, wonderful breakfasts beautifully prepared/cooked, decor restful with warm tones modern but not clinical. And the view from our bedroom window was truly spectacular. We will return without hesitation or doubt!
