The ambience at Middle Ruddings is excellent. The staff have a laid back easy going efficiency and pay much attention to detail;nothing was too much trouble. We were made to feel like old friends although it was our first visit. The food was very good. It is the first hotel I have stayed at where , on ordering a Kipper Fillet for breakfast the waiter immediately asked if I wanted a poached egg with it. Most hotels seem never to have ever heard of this superb taste combination. Excellent ra.
όλα τα σχόλια » A most charming inn set in a beautiful location overlooking Skiddaw. The staff were exceptionally friendly and as for the food - what can we say but 5 Star with emphasis on top quality local produce cooked with flair and presented with style. The breakfasts were exceptional especially the smoked haddock. We shall be returning to the Keswick area in September and plan to .rebook for dinner especially as one of our guests is Gluten intolerant hence it is very important to have confidence in the k. Everywhere was spotless. Very friendly and helpful on arrival and throughout my short stay. My bedroom had a superb view of Skiddaw - the bathroom was well equipped with shower gel and shampoo. The dinner menu was extensive and superbly cooked - as was breakfast. we wanted, and we got, a get away break with a relaxed atmosphere. no flat screens in every corner repeating sky news and no loud music in the bar or restaurant - just open fires, very good food, comfortable chairs and conversation after a day of fresh air. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean, spacious and had lovely views. The meals that we had in the restaurant (dinner and breakfast) were first class and tasty. The beer on tap in the bar in the evening was very enjoyable. the staff were vey freindly and the food was fantastic. the hotel was warm and catered for your comfort. they made us feel vey welcome and is extremely Dog freindly. the location is idylic for access to the northern fells. a fantastic Hotel. staff were extremely friendly and attentive, the food was excellent,nice atmosphere in the bar with the log fire and good real ales.We had the Ruskin Suite which had it's own balcony which was a bonus. Would definately go again. Super staff friendly without being obtrusive and as I had to leave by 8am the chef kindly started breakfast early for me, and it was delicious too. Beautiful location my comfortable single room had a view over Skiddaw. It was a very relaxed location, staff were helpfull and friendly. I could take my dogs to dinner with me and they were accepted. If you are looking for flash glitz don`t go here. It is what it is a lovely country inn. Friendly & helpful staff-Excellent food & menu, all sourced locally and served quickly and efficiently-Peaceful location- beautiful views- spotlessly clean bathroom and bedroom-reasonably priced-. The room was simply furnished, clean and comfortable. The dining room served hearty food for healthy appetites. The greatest asset of this hotel is the staff who were welcoming and helpful. landlord and staff were very friendly helpful and efficient. food was good. room was clean and beds comfortable.enjoyed a beer in the garden looking out at the distant snowcapped hills. The restaurant served delicious meals and had a good selection of wines. I had car trouble and the staff rang around many places trying to get a replacement tyre, they were wonderful. I liked the single room which they obligingly put a double bed in for me as I am tall.I liked the shower which always had hot water but was a bit cramped as part of the bathroom. Unfortunately the bedroom we were allocated was exceptionally small and the en-suite shower room was minute with very poor water flow and dangerously high step into shower .Reading previous reviews I guess we were just unlucky to have been allocated Room 5. pressure of water is not great for bath & shower. Nothing negative to say. Nothing. Breakfast only served between 8.30 -9.15; this is VERY restrictive, and we waited 40 minutes for our hot breakfast to be served. The service at breakfast was very slow & disorganised. I didnt like that their postcode does not identify correctly on sat nav or google maps.This takes you too the middle of a wood, which after a long journey was not what I needed. It was all perfect. Shower in room was lacking in output. Decor a little tired. Bed was rather small, could have done with king size. Will book twin next time. I had a single room - very small but for the price maybe as expected! Maybe would consider paying for a double room next time. Hotel was close to A66 so noisy at times but not really a problem. The shower was poor. Well I thought the Hotel was a bit tired, and needed a bit of updating and decorating Mostly the staff were good, but a couple were not so good, especially at breakfast. Nothing to dislike. returning home. Shower is powerless. I understand ecology but don't think fair the main switch of central heating was turned off in the cold nights and mornings... Nothing. There wasn't anything to dislike. The hot pot in the room did not have a convenient location to plug it in so I had to hold it - definitely a safety issue!! I also had a hard time getting hot water in the shower. Noise from road Noise from the electric toilet digester during the night. leaving !!!. As a single traveller, my bedroom was not the worst I have experienced but then again it was not the best. Nothing. Bathroom very small and narrow, shower scalding hot. No shower in family room as it was in attic. Travelled with one child but room would have been very cramped with two. Nothing derogatory, it was all good. Some of the decor and fixtures a bit dated. The room was too hot due to the nice weather. We asked for a fan but the staff were unable to provide one. The room was extremely hot and made this uncomfortable. Wished we had a shower in the room also. Nothing. nothing. more snack options for the evening. As a hill walker a room with a bath is a better option, but as a a single traveler, finding this is always difficult.
