Fabulous room on two levels with a view over the ocean; great minimalist decor. The lounge was a wonderful place to watch the sun set over the ocean... although drinks buffet a bit pricey (good food though). The beach below was gorgeous.... you can hire lilos to lounge on as a bit difficult otherwise (pebble beach). -

Nice hotel. We had an amazing view. It's old, it's Italian, don't have the highest expectations. AC didn't get cool in our room, but it's was around 75F so not too bad. Parking is really minimal. I drive and SUV, parked it on the ramp and left the keys. The hotel staff moved around the vehicle and parked it. Don't expect to be able to use your vehi

Trully friendly manager and receptionists. Courtesy van brough us from the port to the hotel and back. Luggage brought to the room and all facilities pointed out to us. Superb room and services. All staff in the hotel were amazingly helpful. Their knowledge of the local area was really useful. The hotel is in a great location for historical sites. The staff were fantastic, the waiters and on reception. Nothing was toomuch trouble and we were helped with car rental, taxis etc. Every nowand then we'd get a surprise left in our room which was serviced daily.This ranged from a chocolate on the pillow to a bowl of cherries! Great location for Eolian islands cruises. Stayed in triple room (suite) and it was very spacious. Bathroom very nice. We didn't had breakfast included, but we had dinner one evening. The service was very good and the food delicious.

Very nice stay. Great breakfast, most of it home made and fresh.
Owner is very friendly, caring, educated and hospitable.
No problem getting there. Just use the coordinates you receive from Balarte or the 'location on the map'-feature in your TomTom. letsbookhotel.comsite gives you the exact location. Also Balarte signs on roads close by.

Very eclectic and modern design, the room was very comfortable with lots of storage space and high end shower and bath soaps. The location is rural and very peaceful, the grounds are beautiful, the breakfast was a delicious mix of local dishes and fresh fruit. The lady in charge was very graceful and helpful. I would describe the Balarte as the Gugenheim in the middle on the Scicilian countryside !

Although they did offer that someone comes for the car to a private garage, at a charge. But that's not an ideal scenario as you need to inform an hour before when you needed the car and they would need to drive the car themselves. As

The staff were very friendly and helpful. When the rooms were serviced each day there were many little additional touches that showed that the staff really cared. Lovely clean, bright rooms with plenty of storage space and good air conditioning. The mini bar fridge and valuables safe were especially useful.
