The Hotel is placed very convineantly, close to the train station, on the river front and on the door step of the York Dungeons and York centre. Beautiful, traditional room with lovely big bed, lovely view of the river from the room. Although I have ticked city trip, because that is what we did in York, The Lamb & Lion comes under a different description. It has lots of character. We stayed in the Attic, it was beautiful. Really comfortable. Brilliant being in the middle of York, parked in Marygate carpark and didn't go back until we left. Staff lovely, left the phone charger in the room when we left, Manager posted it back to me next day, no problem. Breakfast delightful. Would definitely go back.

We really didn't know what to expect aside from reading reviews.
It's different! We wanted different. We didn't want a typical

The Guy Fawkes Inn is such a great place, the location is spot-on for a stay in York, the place is steeped in history and the rustic charm of the inn is amazing, you feel like you've travelled back in time once you step through the door, but in a good way :)
The staff are amazing, very professional and very friendly, you feel at home straight away.
The rooms are great, very clean and comfortable with great facilities.
The food is outstanding! Presentation is awesome and it tastes amazing.

The staff that were there were excellant and could not do enough for us.. Its situation to york was fantastic only a five min walk. - The staff member we dealt with at reception was very friendly, helpful and always willing to help at any point.

It was close to city centre, about 15 minutes walk. Cute little room with a comfy bed. Not a lot of frills, but didn't feel like anything I needed was really lacking. Had a cozy inn kind of feel to it. The staff was very nice and let us keep our car in the car park after we checked out so we could wander the city a bit. -

the smell of the restraunt was unnoticable , the room was good , nothing falling apart as had been reported , we would definatley stop there again

The staff were friendly,helpul and professional.They could not fo enough for us.We were very surprised at the variety of the dinner menu and the "specials"available.We decided to eat in and enjoyed a superb well cpoked meal.Breakfast very good too and no traffic noise even though I was at the front of the hotel. -

The new managers had just taken over and had many issues to deal with. They made us feel very welcome and accomodated our needs well. The hotel needs some TLC but is comfortable and the rooms were adequate for the price. Overall, a nice place to stay near to the city (15 Min) walk or bus directly outside, generous parking area. -

there was some road noise but I suspect they are in a conservation area so double glazing is not possible
