  The owners of the guesthouse are very friendly, and kept the rooms very clean. There is always someone cleaning the bathroom and vacuuming the hallways. The kitchen is also good, as is the dining room. The bathrooms are kept clean and well-stocked. Each room is equipped with a sink, drain stopper, and soap. We originally booked a double bedroom, but were upgraded To a larger room as we were staying for close to 8 days. They even lent me a hair dryer and straightner when mine blew out.   I really enjoyed my stay at the Alfholl Gueshouse. The owner Kristjan is very nice and follows up with you to find out what time your flight arrives/leaves to makes sure everything is in order. I would definitely recommend staying at the guesthouse - Good location, friendly owner and nice big (single) room.   A quiet house in a residential area. It feels more like you've visited someone's house than staying in a hotel. There are several shared bathrooms, which are well equipped and maintained. There's even a full bath in one. There's a full kitchen with dishes, pots and pans and a fridge so you can cook meals if you wish.   The staff were all incredibly nice and helpful, and they make you feel right at home. The facilities were great too (fully-equipped kitchen, hot showers with tub, and free laundry facilities).   This place must be the best value in Reykjavik. I walked into my room and had a mini-jaw drop as I saw the quality of the furnishings, the comfortable bed, the NEWness of everything, and a well-stocked kitchenette. Breakfast is a tray of goodies - bread, jams, cheese. The front desk staff is VERY nice and helpful. P - Everything was great - clean, spacious, comfortable, well-equipped (wifi in room, kitchen facilities, ipod dock), and the bath was lovely. The staff were friendly & helpful, dealing with some of my tourist queries including phone calls to local tour companies. The location is very central and you can walk to all shopping, bars, restaurants, harbour etc. Most tour companies pick up and drop off outside the hotel.

  the two staff members worked there socks off to keep all guesrs happy - The staff was extremely helpful in having the room ready at early arrival (arriving with a 3-year old child after a night flight made really all the difference!), providing us with information, and making taxi reservation for us.
