  The couple running it - Karlotta and Hugo - were really welcoming, very friendly and full of useful information about Reykjavic and Iceland. The rooms and facilities were well kept and very comfortable. The breakfast was superb! The location was great - 10-15 minutes from the city centre so nearby but without any of the city centre noise. The BSI... vad folk säger » bus terminal was only 10 mins away through a nature reserve and the coastal walk only 1 minute away. - Bed and books is nestled in a quiet neighborhood a little bit outside of the main city center (but still very accessible). It is a smaller B&B with only 4 rooms total. Hosts Hugo and Karlotta were extremely friendly and were genuinely concerned about our comfort and our enjoyment. My wife and I felt very much at home. Our room was very comfortable, well-kept, and cozy. We would highly recommend a stay here!

  I'd like to start by saying what wonderful owners the couple who run Smáragata Rooms are. They are very friendly, welcoming and will do their very best to accommodate your (reasonable) needs. The property is in a sleepy, quiet residential street but is by no means in a bad location - infact, it's excellent. The bsí bus station is literally around the c - Iceland was fantastic! The countryside was unique, and we especially enjoyed the Golden Circle tour, and the Blue Lagoon. Our Smaragata 1-bedroom apartment with kitchenette and private facilities was close to the city bus terminal, and an easy 10-15 min walk to the city and major attractions. The owners were friendly and very helpful.

We were making a first visit to the University. Innkeeper Thorri was very helpful and kind. As we walked around Reykjavik, we never saw a better value for this level of amenities and character. We love staying in historic and cultured homes like Gastafell. The 1 bedroom apartment was fully equipped and in a wonderful quiet location but literally minutes from everything. Breakfast was excellent.
