  Very nice hosts! We felt really great at the place. It was clean, modernly designed. The room was big and the bed comfy :) Internet was working ok. Possibility to use the kitchen, breakfast was good. 5min walk to the city center and the BSI bus station. - Wonderful host family! And the room was very spacious.

  This place must be the best value in Reykjavik. I walked into my room and had a mini-jaw drop as I saw the quality of the furnishings, the comfortable bed, the NEWness of everything, and a well-stocked kitchenette. Breakfast is a tray of goodies - bread, jams, cheese. They also provide cartons of milk and orange juice that you are free to use up.... mitä ihmiset sanovat » Our kitchenette featured a sink, toaster, mini-fridge, and basic cooking equipment (pots and pans). The front desk staff is VERY nice and helpful. P - Everything was great - clean, spacious, comfortable, well-equipped (wifi in room, kitchen facilities, ipod dock), and the bath was lovely. The staff were friendly & helpful, dealing with some of my tourist queries including phone calls to local tour companies. The location is very central and you can walk to all shopping, bars, restaurants, harbour etc. Most tour companies pick up and drop off outside the hotel.

  The apartments were spacious by European standards and they were ideally located near City Center. They were cleaned daily and everything worked reasonably well. The internet connection was a bit shaky at times and was a dsl line. The tv was likewise weird, having at times 150 channels, then 6! All British satellite coverage.   Honestly, what's not to love about this hotel/apartment/suites? We fall in love with it the minute we walked in and was very sad when we had to leave. The location is great, very close to almost everything. Although, one thing I would like to mention, the road that it is currently sitting on being worked on. There is a parking garage right across the road, make sure you let the - Tastefully furnished; loved the reading alcove and many skylights and exposed wooden beams of the top suite. Excellent location - just one street over from the main shopping/dining street which can get noisy during the weekend. The breakfast was more than enough for 3 people, with delicious sourdough bread left hanging on your doorknob every morning. Goose down comforters and Icelandic wool blankets were really cosy. Good soundproofing muted the construction sounds which began at around 8 A.M.

  We stayed twice in Helga Guesthouse - at the beginning and end of our trip to Iceland. It is very clean and very well organised, the kitchen has everything you might need and the owner keeps it spotless. Our room was spacious and cosy. The owner is extremely helpful and went out of his way to my our stay a good experience. He is also a taxi driver - Herman, the owner, is incredibly kind, helpful, and warm. We arrived at 1:30am, and he took the time to show us how the bus system worked, maps of the city, and main attractions. He helped us find restaurants, and figure out organization for day trips. He even knows all of the cool ipad apps that tell you bits of information that help for getting around Reykjavik.   I loved Afla Guesthouse! The rooms are comfortable, the house is easy to find, and the owner made us feel very welcome. She made us breakfast in the morning, and it was great to be able to sit down and talk to her over breakfast, to find out more about the city and what we should see.   I'd like to start by saying what wonderful owners the couple who run Smáragata Rooms are. They are very friendly, welcoming and will do their very best to accommodate your (reasonable) needs. The property is in a sleepy, quiet residential street but is by no means in a bad location - infact, it's excellent. The bsí bus station is literally around the c - Iceland was fantastic! The countryside was unique, and we especially enjoyed the Golden Circle tour, and the Blue Lagoon. Our Smaragata 1-bedroom apartment with kitchenette and private facilities was close to the city bus terminal, and an easy 10-15 min walk to the city and major attractions. The owners were friendly and very helpful.
