This place must be the best value in Reykjavik. I walked into my room and had a mini-jaw drop as I saw the quality of the furnishings, the comfortable bed, the NEWness of everything, and a well-stocked kitchenette. Breakfast is a tray of goodies - bread, jams, cheese. They also provide cartons of milk and orange juice that you are free to use up.

Everything was great - clean, spacious, comfortable, well-equipped (wifi in room, kitchen facilities, ipod dock), and the bath was lovely. The staff were friendly & helpful, dealing with some of my tourist queries including phone calls to local tour companies. The location is very central and you can walk to all shopping, bars, restaurants, harbour etc. Most tour companies pick up and drop off outside the hotel.

Tastefully furnished; loved the reading alcove and many skylights and
exposed wooden beams of the top suite. Excellent location - just one
street over from the main shopping/dining street which can get noisy
during the weekend. The breakfast was more than enough for 3 people,
with delicious sourdough bread left hanging on your doorknob every
morning. Goose down comforters and Icelandic wool blankets were really
cosy. Good soundproofing muted the construction sounds which began at
around 8 A.M.

We rented the studio apartment for a week. We were making a first visit to the University. Innkeeper Thorri was very helpful and kind. As we walked around Reykjavik, we never saw a better value for this level of amenities and character. We love staying in historic and cultured homes like Gastafell. The 1 bedroom apartment was fully equipped and in a wonderful quiet location but literally minutes from everything. Breakfast was excellent.

Due to a flight change and then a delay we arrived very late (about 1am). This was no problem for the staff which we very much appreciated. There is a kitchen where you can cook which gives great flexibility and saves a bit of money. Excellent value, good wifi and great location. Also Konrad makes the best pancakes!

I think it is not easy to find such a good hotel in the center of Reykjavik. The hotel is just beside the church, very convenient, quiet and clean.
