You can walk to the piers from this hotel, its .8 miles away so not bad at all. I suggest parking in the lot across the street from this hotel, its $27 a day as opposed to $50 for Hilton parking (although it isnt the prettiest). This was my first time coming to the city and the front desk and concierge couldn't have been any more helpful and friendly, with them giving me directions and advice how to travel about town really made my trip awesome.
all reviews » The room was clean, had a nice view of the bay, and a wonderfully comfortable bed. The reception/bellhop staff was extremely friendly and helpful. I worked the whole trip, but I want to go back and try the day spa. Friendly staff and great facility. Also nice business center and great location in San Francisco. You can walk to shopping and Fishermans wharf. The location was excellent with easy access to china town and shopping. I would suggest you ask for a room with a Bay View when booking. The hotel was efficient and clean and the staff in the executive suite were great. Concierge and valets very helpful and knowledgable. Location was very convenient for sightseeing. Staff were friendly and helped us with late check out without any problems. Convenient to where I needed to be. Room service had some reasonably priced options. Offered car service to airport. I enjoyed the proximity to the Ball Park. We were down for a State Farm function and get together. Incredible view of the Coit Tower from our room, and one of the best views of SF I've ever seen!. clean comfortable room, good location for piers and china town, coit tower etc, pleasant staff. The service was wonderful. The hotel staff was very polite and helpful. Felt right at home. the fact that the front desk staff made my kids night by popping popcorn for them thank you. The convenience to China town. computers. good. If you book a room with balcony you will get access to the executive floor (free beverages and free breakfast). The area is alright, felt a little sketchy but not bad. A hotel employee knocked on my door around 8am to ask when I planned on leaving, i've never had that happen to me before. Also the taxes were about $40. Maybe just I'm use to hotels in Las Vegas but remote operated blinds, heating a/c and lights would've been cool. The room did not have enough light --even with all the lights on. Likewise, there was also one only set of accessible outlets, which made working in bed with my laptop nearly impossible. It may have just been the layout of room 1525, but quite hard to work around. No gift shop. It is expensive, it was a reasonable price using letsbookhotel.com but we extended by a day direct with the hotel and this was extortionate. There was no outside pool. Would have preferred free internet in the room. Immediate neighborhood a little sketchy. There was no Jacuzzi or pool. The cost, but that's what's to be expected when staying in a Hilton in downtown SF. room window has not been cleaned for years on the outside...the extra money for a bay view is not worth it because you cannot see it through the dirt..the glass is practically opaque. The morning staff of the resturant was not polite. The service was very slow and they didn't seem too care. Nothing like the night time staff. I think the breakfast menu is a little pricy. the staff at the restaurant was rue and didn't help me. Had to call front desk to fix AC, didn't have a fridge or microwave, those should be standard for a room priced at over 230 dollars. Double beds vs. queens. Paying for Internet as a Hilton member. Location could be a bit better - althought it's good. The bathroom was very small. Old, slow elevators. The common areas looked old and tired. The entire hotel doesn't even have a first aid box, I had fever in the middle of the night and could get even a dose of tylenol from the hotel. I was asked to go to a convenience store six blocks away to buy the otc drug at 3am. That needs to be improved. breakfast too expensive no free in-room wifi. no. Very expensive for the comfort of the room. For the location the price is ok. No airport shuttle (Limousine service around 55 Dollar to the airport). Smelly hallway. No mini-bar. I did not like that the parking cost $50/night on top of the already high hotel rate. would have extended stay 2 more nights but the hotel would have charged higher (rack) rate not the same as paid on letsbookhotel.com, moved to Marriott Marquis for cheaper price with better facilities. No open wi-fi, which we had in all other hotels in the trip, even being this one the more expensive. We selected the room with bay view and payed more for that but there was no room with the view available when we checked in. Price, dirty room, no free internet despite high room fees, overpriced parking, room smaller than pictured. Will not stay at any Hilton hotel again because of this.
