The staff were BRILLIANT BRILLIANT BRILLIANT. I had a very difficult time finding the hotel due to a blocked exit on the M1 and then problems with the sat nav sending me to the middle of Nottingham. But your receptionist at Daybrook that evening was wonderful, helped me get to your Miller's Barn location (I think that was the name of it). She had actually phoned ahead to let them know a hysterical female would staggering in. There, receptionist Faye had printed out directions to Daybrook f.
all reviews » We liked everything. The hotel was clean and comfortable. The adjoining rooms were perfect for our family group(3 adults and 8 children!). The staff could not have been better - they were so helpful it made our weekend. I wish I had their names but special thanks to the young lady who allocated our rooms and to the night receptionist/porter. Marvellously friendly welcome from the reception staff. Rooms was comfortable and quiet. Car park large and free. There was a problem with the water supply, not the hotels's fault, and they refunded in full without hesitation. The convenience to our reception. Main reason for booking into this hotel. Although there was a bit of a mix up with the booking payment. &Quot;Becky" sorted it out with ruthless effciency. The receptionist was very friendly. Nothing to dislike. If it were a little closer to town that would be great, but 20mins by bus or car is manageable. The bed was not as comfortable as Mr Lenny Henry advertises. It seemed a strange set up where you have to go to a seperate location for your breakfast. Fortunately it was not raining. As 1 of our party was in a wheelchair. Cooked breakfast felt a little re-heated. Not the end of the world though. Room was a little warm but windows opened (although at the front you would have a lot of road noise) Sat Nav didn't like the postcode. Took me to adjacent road. There was nothing to dislike about the inn. An armchair in the room would have been ideal,but I feel sure that I would have been given one if I had asked. The walk to the dining area in the pub next door was quite a walk for a disabled person and the few stairs which you had to negotiate were a little difficult, but it did not spoil the visit. Nothing. Nothing. Nothing bad to say. only one complaint,heating was too high. nothing. No mini bar(wee joke) ;-). Could not control the room heating despite asking staff to remedy. Food in the restaurant (in a pub next door) not good, and there is no breakfast room in the hotel. We could not eat the hot breakfast. Rooms at the front of the hotel noisy. Location - long way from centre of Nottingham. no cold water running in bath tap, do not provide any free shampoo sachets as in previous 4 visits, only 1 towel. Very close to a main road so traffic noise continued through the night - need to ask for room at rear of property. Nothing really. Only the waste land which was on view from our 2nd floor window made us think about car safety a bit. Was fully booked and could not book an extra night. lack of a bar fridge No facility to call out on the room phone. quite a lot of road noise. The fact receptionist explained the grab and go breakfast as a small box of cereal and gone off milk, telling me that she wouldn't buy it if she were me. Not very professional and very inaccurate to the description of the advert for it. The Room was far to hot. The other people who we're staying at the hotel at the same time as us moaned to much over silly things, even things we didn't even do. Room was very hot but couldn't open the window as opened onto a very busy road throughout the night. The only way we could get some sleep was to remove the quilt from the cover and sleep under the cover only so ended up without much sleep. Noise from someone leaving about 3am. corridor carpet fusty(bit of shake n vac wouldn,t go amiss). No lounge facilities. The reseraunt next door was too expensive. I was overcharged and the room was too noisy next to the road. Sllep was limited.
