Receptionist very friendly and informative upon arrival. The room was spacious, very modern and clean. Very jolly waiter serving at breakfast - made a good start to the day. Location is brilliant, ideal for the O2 - advice for travellers going to the O2 get a bus either nos. 188 and 259 go straight there without any changes, far easier than the tube. We chose the hotel because it was well situated for our needs. We have stayed in a number of hotels in Greenwich as we have family there. This was easily the best hotel we have stayed in in that area. Staff were very helpful and pleasant, our rooms were clean, comfortable and well furnished and the breakfast menu was good.The staff were very freindly and helpful, Nothing was too much trouble. We only had the Breakfast option but this was always plentiful and fresh. The rooms were clean and totally acceptable - However see my comment below which is not actually negative but an observation. This is a wonderful hotel, the receptionist who checked us in could not have been more helpfrul or friendly, the waiting staff at breakfast the next morning were also fantastic. Easay to be reached from Cutty Sarl DLR station, nice surrounding; cosy, nicely furbished, calm, new bathroom, many agreeable details !. Receptionist was very helpful and when i needed a blackberry charger she had one for me to use. i found the lady on reception to be very nice and willing to help in any way she could. Great value for money for a comfortable room in a such an attractive part of London. Secure parking,excellent breakfast, friendly staff, would certainly use it again. Location. This was a early Valentine treat for my wife and I and the reason we chose this venue was its close proximity to the O2. When we arrived we were on the top floor and the rooms were rather stuffy. The hotel provide fans but unfortunately these are (as fans are) noisy and we asked for the room to be changed. Which was done the next day with no issue. The only other thing I would say is that it would have been nice to have had a fridge in the room. a bit hard to find,. no. No assistance whatever was given to us when we requested (by phone , in advance of our stay ) the hotels advice in finding a local babysitter for one night during our stay.The Pillows were too stiff - I'd like to have had feather ones. no plugs in sink or bath in our room!. Would love to have health and fitness associated with this venue. noise of other guests talking in corridor late at night. Bar tends to be a bit pricey. We would prefer to start dinner before 7pm. it was very warm and we could not open the window wide enough to get sufficient fresh air. Some unavoidable traffic noise, but wouldn't stop me staying there again..boring bar area. Price of food in the resterant. Towel rail in bathroom not working and room was like a fridge on arrival as windows had been left open and heating switched off in the middle of winter. Hotel staff promised to get maintenance to look at towel rail. By comparison to my Mothers room and my sisters room, I found the room quite small.Aimed more at conferences, seminars etc than the leisure industry. problems with television, the remote would not work correctly, very noisy toilet when flushed and last a long time, very annoying when you are trying to sleep. The beds are a bit hard, small tv with "bad" remote. Not so much as disliked but small things that would improve the experience 1. better pillows 2. bottled water in rooms 3. toast served at tables rather than long queue for a toaster and letting breakfast get cold 4. marmalade at tables as well as jam. For a four star hotel I thought the breakfast was a little ordinary (but the coffee was good). Bar was closed on Sunday evening when we returned at 11.45, restriction of bar/room service. TV control was overly complicated.

Travelling information
By Car: Follow the a2, passing the Kidbrooke Interchange, then the Sun-in-the- Sands Interchange. Take the slip road off the main road, signed a206 for Woolwich and Greewich. At the bottom of the slip road take the left hand turn. Follow this road, sign posted for Rotherhithe and Greenwich. Go through 4 sets of lights, passing The Plaza on the left and The Arches swimming pool also on the left. You are now in Greenwich. On the left handside you will see the Maritime Museum - go past it and you will see a building set back from the road with a lawn to the front. This is Devonport House. Go past the building and keep to the left. At the Pedestrian Crossing go left passing a large Church on your right and Pizza Express on your left. Take the next left turn before the Ibis Hotel. Take the next left (Antique Shops on the left and the Theatre on the right) at the junction. Devonport House entrance is opposite you.
By Train: The Docklands Light Railway provides a frequent public transport link into Maritime Greenwich from London. Nearest DLR station is Cutty Sark which involves a short walk through the main high street - turn left out of the station along College Approach and at the end turn right onto King William Walk. Devonport House is a 1/4 mile on the left, immediately before the entrance to Greenwich Park. The nearest Underground station is Greenwich, which links with Charing Cross station.
By Air: Heathrow Airport - either Heathrow Express to Paddington, Bakerloo Line to Charing Cross, Connex train to Greenwich or Picadilly Line to Green Park then Jubilee Line to North Greenwich and bus shuttle. Gatwick - Thameslink service to London Bridge then Connex train to Greenwich. Stansted - Stansted Express train link to Liverpool Street, Central Line to Bank then DLR to Cutty Sark. London City Airport - shuttle bus to Canning Town then DLR to Cutty Sark (change at Poplar).
