  I booked the "small room" which was offered at a very reasonable rate and was delighted with the room, whilst it was smaller than the normal rooms due to a very good design it still felt spacious and luxurious. The gym which Berns guests can use at the grand hotel was also excellent and a real treat to use. The price is rather high - The hotel's location is perfect in the middle of everything with a fantastic view on the Royal Palace. The staff is very friendly - beyond even what one would expect in a hotel of that class. Tip: Instead of the buffet breakfast (and if you don't have the breakfast included in your package) eat a la carte in the bar with the view on the Palace - breath-taking!

Our end was a like a nice hotel, with the use of hostel facilities (ie cheap washing machine, kitchen, kids toys, guidebooks, info). Being there in the winter, the room was nice and warm. Many TV channels including programmes in English. Can even buy stamps at the hotel.

I didn't try the shared bathroom but only the toilets since I slept my two first nights (3 nights in total) in a double-bed room, but absolutely everything was wonderful : - comfortable quite big beds with strong woody frames (no noise) - easy key system with card or magnetic "plastic coin" - big case for valuable belongi... what people say » ngs in the "multiple beds bedroom" - everything was modern : bathrooms, doors, furniture, kitchen, ... - big kitchen with lots of utensils for cookin - The kitchen is a very nice addition to the stay at Skanstulls. Since food is so expensive in Stockholm, the kitchen gives a nice break to buy food and cook it. There are 2 grocery stores across the street too, In the hostel is a lot of tourist info which was really nice. I had a late check in that I forgot to mention and I almost wasn't able to get into the hostel. I caught the staff member at the last minute as she was leaving and she was so kind about my mistake. She was a very helpful girl

If you like to ride a bike, you have your "private" garage next to the hotel, with 20 bikes ready to be rented; just buy the City Bikes card at the reception.
