We stayed one night at this hotel and found it to be very good. We´d brought our car and were offered overnight parking nearby for 140kr. The parking was very secure although around a 5-7 minute walk from the hotel We also had the option of having hotel staff park the car for us for an additional 140kr but decided against this. It a very big hotel, almost overwhelming initially. We had to get out of one lift and jump in another for breakfast. Because of its´ size it feels impersonal. The h - Nicola

The location was great, close to the city centre. The hotel is comfortable, clean and beautiful. The service was friendly. The rooms were pretty small but still nice and pretty. - David

Although I go to hotels that are a bit more trendy and not this classic, but this was a nice hotel in a great city. Great beds, great food, service was impeccable and have to say that Frida in Reception was excellent. She helped my husband with several travel arrangements around sweden, which saved us big amounts of work and time. Many thanks! - Antoinette

We stayed in the Spar Majorna for 2 nights in October. Easily accessed by tram from city centre (No 9 or 3, get off at Chapmans Torg). Room was quite small but very clean and modern. Large LCD tv attached to the wall (most channels are in English, also 2 movie channels which showed relatively new films). Reviews of the breakfast were not wrong - cereals, breads, rolls, eggs(scrambled, hard boiled, soft boiled), bacon, sausages, rollmops, cheeses and meats, waffles (with jam and cream mmmmm) fres - Judy

Designed to give you a taste of Italy - both the rooms and the elegant coffee parlour / reception. Rooms are well furnished with the bed as a centerpiece. Covered in velvet and golden pillows it welcomes you on entering the room. The complimentary San Pellegrino water (in glass bottles) and biscotti are a nice touch. New, clean bathrooms with a good steamy pressure in the shower add to the overall good impression. I missed an iron in the room, but had one sent up directly after calling the re - Eric

I spent 3 nights at the Hotel Royal while attending a conference in Gothenburg, thus wanted something central. The Royal already had good revies, and those are justified. First thing to note is exceptional friendliness of the staff. I called a day before to confirm the reservation and to ask for a quiet room, as well as for the possibility for one with a bigger bed (for taller people...) - Swedish hotels often have super-narrow, 90cm mattresses. If like me you're a budget traveller then this is one of best hotels I have ever stayed in. The cleanliness, rooms were spacious and had everything you need. The food was lovely and all well presented. Staff very nice and friendly. Hotel is in excellent location. 5 minutes from the main shopping street Avenyn and about 10 minutes walk to the Liseberg theme park which is beautiful at Christmas time. A find in Goteborg! Located at the north side of the river, this hotel is situated in a classic part of this city. Isolated from the busy city but with easy access to the downtown by boat, bus or car. Several restaurants and cafes nearby. The hotel has an interesting history and is very nice, clean and with a friendly and helpful staff. I stayed three nights at the SAS Radisson Goteborg during a business trip. There's really nothing to complain about. The location is excellent, less than five minutes walk from the main train station and airport bus, and less tyan 10 minutes from the ferries. The old town, lots of restaurants, and the main sites are walking distance. My room was large clean and comfortable, the staff was friendly, the price was reasonable for Scandinavia, and the breakfast buffet was tasty and copious. The gym i - Tyrone

We stopped at Scandic Rubinen between Saturday 7th Feb and Tuesday 10th Feb 2009 We couldn't have asked anymore for the staff or the facilities that the hotel provided me with.
